The unit powers on for
Sounds like capacitors failing. I would first unplug the unit for 30 seconds and plug it back in and then see what happens. If it cleared it up fine. If not take the unit apart being sure that it is unplugged. And look at the capacitors. They look like small soda cans they should have a flat top . If not and they are bulging? They are bad you might even see one leaking also. They are bad when they leak or bulge or sometimes both. Don't mistake glue for Capacitor sediment.
These Caps hold a charge please handle these with care they hold a wallop of a charge even after the unit is unplugged.
Radio will turn on but
OK, is there an external power supply, or is the power supply transformer internal?
Usually, this indicates that the CX-CD377 Shelf system made by Coby is not in working order, as far as the internal electronics are concerned.
It might be repairable, but in my experience it may not be cost effective to do so.
Maybe, consider getting a new power supply transformer for it, but if it still does it, you're going to have to buy a new unit to replace it, if you so desire.
