If you choose to install skype or another messenger program you will have the options to join make an ID or if already a member to sign in
an Id must consist of letters and numbers just one number will do the Id must be unique skype will automatically search to see if your Id you have made is available eg: clogsy9

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark?
right click to reinstall drivers or
update driver
open skype go to tools from the drop down list select options scroll to audio settings
you can make a free test call before you try to make a call
make sure the microphone is using the same as your computers audio
you can make a free test call if you cant get the microphone to work you can select learn about setting up your audio equipment also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices audio and also voice its the same make sure that you have the right default microphone selected you should be able scroll to video settings to make sure you have the right settings
Open skype go to tools options scroll to audio settings or video settings on the right you will see webcam setting you can change the settings from there click apply after changing any settings also you can see the webcam there you can even take a snapsot also make sure your settings are correct for a video call
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick also
select audio from the microphone drop down list make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or
select the voice tab and make sure that you have the right media selected also select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it
