I have no 220 coming out of the circuit board heat
Jumping 220 volts directly to heat or cool for just checking purpose. Not for regular use. Please replace your thermostat immediately.Please don't take risk.
To get heat set temp 30 degree and mode in "Heat"Hope you will keep my sincere advise.

Hello and sorry to hear about your problem.
It sounds like your glow rod, is defective. This is the electronic pilot lite for the unit.

Won't heat and doesn't cool properly
Hi, from the above explanation, it is seems to be a thermostat or board problem just like the previous person told you and the price to replace the affected part is expensive because it's old fashioned and the parts are scares to get. The thermostat should be around $150 or less if that is the problem but the board is within the price range you were told.

HOW DO RESET LIMIT SWITCH
The limit switch will have a small button in the middle. Push to reset. If no button and limit is open. Bad switch. Replace it. Russ

My Amana Confort Zone ptac unit with model number
there is a drain plug inside unit.pull unit out of hole and look down to right side of unit in the drain pan you will see a plastic drain port knock it out and the unit will drain

Do you have power going to it?. Sometimes if a cheap outlet is used it will break the connection when a loasd is put on it. With the unit plugged in and in on position, wiggle the cord st the outlet. Confirm you have power to the AC Unit, Let me know.

Roger they have a ground fault plug on the and they may not rest. If your not grounded they will not reset. Rusty

Problem with amana central air conditioner saftey switch
The switch he jumped out was the high pressure cut out switch which tripped because you left the cover on. Sounds as though it did it's job and he cut it out to sell you another. Yes it is important to have as it protects the compressor.
