How do i watch dvds and drive with a pioneer z2

to watch dvds without you having to be in park you have to rewire the wiring to the deck. not the speakerwires or anything like that there should be a pink or orange color wire that comes from the harnest of the back of the deck anyway that wire is the only single wire in its own color besides (red yellow black) these are the wires that give power to your deck. all u have to do is take that one wire left over i think its orange in color and ground it (connect it with the black wiring. that should bypass the brakes from the deck n ypou can watch dvds as you drive but dont forget to also watch the road. :)

Pioneer avic-x1bt car dvd nav.

hi,
First of all you hve to chcek the 12V at the Yellow and Red wire ( ignition key On possition) which is going to its power socket. If any one is missing then check the corresponding fuse in that line.

If these are ok the do the following procedure

1. Start the engine

2. Press the RESET button on the display unit using a pointed object such as the tip of a
pen. (You can see a small hole in the on the top of the players right side rotery knobe)

3. Press the RESET button on the Bluetooth adapter using a pointed object such as the tip
of a pen. ( if you use bluetooth adaptor then only need)

4. Enter the following settings:

A. Install the programme in the navigation system

B. Drive until the initialised sensors start operating normally

C. Set the time and language

Set the navigation system as explained in the Operation Manual or Hardware Manual

ok

I have a pioneer avic z2 that dont play DVDS.

Hi yobonilla,
If you have necessary tools and test instruments, know safety precaution in basic troubleshooting try the steps below to solve your problem.
Assuming that the disc is good.
1.Clean the lens. - Sometimes because of dust and any fine foreign objects the optical lens can't read any discs. If you have a DVD Lens cleaner, play it to the unit. If this is not available you may manually clean the optical lens. Open the cover and gently clean the eye of the lens by smooth, clean, soft cotton buds. Be careful while doing this, just a gentle stroke only.
2.Check the ribbon - Check the ribbon connected to the lens from the main board for scratch, damage. Once it has an open line then of course the lens can't read the disc, this is due to the movement of the optical lens back-and-forth. Also try to erase the contact by pencil eraser. If you've done the steps above and the symptoms still there then the next step requires you a little knowledge in soldering technique and reading the ohmmeter.
3.Check the spindle motor - Check the spindle motor that spin the disc with an ohmmeter. You can test it using the ohmmeter (x1) even it is connected on the lens assembly.Good motor - reading should be fairly high and it will spin. Bad motor- reading will drop to low resistance and will not spin.

Hint : Most of my repaired unit the above parts are commonly caused of the problem.
If you confirmed that you have a defective motor then replace it with a new one. Before replacing the new motor you have to check the clearance of the disc holder with the old one. The clearance should be the same as the old because if not the lens will not read the disc if it is too far or too close.
If the above steps didn't cure the problem, high chance that your optical lens was faulty.

If you can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the symptom.

Also, check if your unit is under warranty period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Don't attempt to open the cover(it will void the warranty).

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.
