Washing machine will NOT complete rinse/spin cycle due to drum instability at high speed. At low speeds it completes the rinse/spin cycle about 50 percent of the time.

As a Whirlpool Tech this one drives us crazy the machine stops due to thinking the load is unbalanced the main computer reads the amp draw on the motor in spin any kind of resistance or drag will increase amp draw and shut down machine did he pull the basket to ensure nothing between basket and tub, I have found the Teflon balls that hold the suspension rods do not rotate due to rust the tech could be right a bad hub bearing could cause this you would normally get a high pitch sound in spin a bad RPS rotor position sensor will cause this any rust between the rotor and stator ( motor assembly ) will cause this, loss of fluid in the balance ring on the basket will cause this a loose balance ring will cause this and a bad control will cause this not reading proper amp draw I guess in saying I have replaced the parts the tech recommended and it did not correct the problem just those parts alone with labor is not cheap the best tech in the world unless some thing just stands out is making an experienced guess

Anyone have a problem with

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Here are my general guidance notes for checking drain motors and filters JUST IN CASE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM A STRUGGLING DRAIN MOTOR ;-0)
-----------------------------------

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!
