There may be a small leak in the pipe at the place of joint which lets small amount of water out and it may be this water that freezes. Have a check of that tube and if necessary get it replaced.

The ice maker is not working anymore and the light

Do you have water at the dispenser?

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig is frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.

Icemaker not working...

Hi, first , pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If if freezes , and dumps , replace the water valve. If it does not dump the cubes , replace the ice maker. After pouring the water into the ice maker , remove the bottom kick panel , and clean the bottom coils , of dust , lint , pet hair , etc , as this will raise the freezer temp . An ice maker has to be 5 degrees , to operate , correctly . If ice maker starts working , after cleaning the coils , GREAT ! ( it does happen ) .

Take care

Icemaker not working

Try filling ice maker with tap water and let freeze. If it dumps and does not refill with water the dual water control valve is at fault. If the ice maker just sits there full of ice and does not move then the ice maker and possible thermal fuse in red wire of the ice maker harness has blown. Let me know what you find, Sea Breeze

Unit no longer cooling at all

Good day,
The clicking you hear is the compressor trying to start and can't.
This can be due to the start components mounted on the side of the compressor or the compressor itself.
The items mounted on the compressor are the thermal overload, the start relay and on many models a start/run capacitor.
When the protective cover is removed, these items can be removed by pulling them off the pins of the compressor.
Most appliance parts houses would be more than happy to test them for you. If any are found defective. Replace.

If the starting components all check good, then it is likely the compressor itself has failed. The price varies but could be near $500.00 with the installation.

My refrigerator door won't close.

Newer model KitchenAid refrigerator doors have a two piece cam on the lower hinge that assists the door in shutting. This cam is made of plastic and the weight of the door tends to grind away this part quickly. To see if you have the cam and it's worn, lay on the floor and compare the freezer door to the fridge while someone opens it. If the cam is there, you'll see the door rise up about a 1/4" when you open it.
If the fridge is a newer model, a call to KitchenAid customer service will get you the parts. If it is out of warranty, they will send you the parts for free if you politely point out that an expensive fridge shouldn't fail like this so quickly.
This is an easy part to part to replace, though it does require taking the door off to do it. Screwdriver and a small socket set is all that is required. 15 minutes to complete the task, including taking the fridge contents off the door. :-)
