Our bread maker doesn't heat

Contact [email protected] for a service center near you.

Otherwise, try to reboot your breadmaker's computer by plugging it in then pressing and holding the Stop/Pause button down for at least 3 seconds.

Hope this helped. ;)

Cuisinart CBK-200 won't heat at all

Try replacing the small transistor 9013 on the lower circuit board. On the circuit it will say heater near certain wires and there will be a big black box relay that turns the heater on and off. I got my transistors from fairchild semiconductor. The circuits are below the control panel on the right hand side.

My new cuisinart breadmaker has

Hmmm... I'm back again. My machine still smells terrible! I live in a relatively small, open plan apartment and this bread machine is smelling up the place. I am very unhappy with this because I am otherwise pleased with the bread it makes.

I removed the bottom plate to see what is causing the smell. I have NO doubt whatsoever that the problem is the rubber belt, which I believe controls the kneading paddle. I've taken to leaving it outside to air but am stumped for a permanent resolution.

Any remedies for stinky rubber that I've come across involve liquids, heat or powders etc.. just things in general that wouldn't be prudent near the electrical panel, as well as not wanting to take the risk of damaging the machine and having it stop working altogether.

I got it at Costco in January, no hope of returning it there. Has anyone contacted Cuisinart about this? I wonder if they are aware of the issue if it seems to be widespread. I am in Ontario.

What happened with the B&D? Did the problem ever resolve? Irony is that I had returned a smelly B&D in order to get the Cuisniart! Same problem, but IMO I think it was worse with the B&D and the Cuisinart is a better machine over all (if it didn't smell so bad!)

The liquid leaks from the shaft of the bread pan.

Hi...The paddle shaft fits tightly on a sealed bearing. This allows the shaft to spin freely. Over time the sealed bearing wears out, the shaft gets loose and liquid will leak through. Unfortunately there is no fix for this and a new bread pan is needed. sorry...Hank

My Cuisinart bread maker CBK200 doesn't knead bread properly and has to be paused and resumed every few minutes.

Are you reading the instructions correctly? No bread maker kneads for 1 hour and 30 mins.as you say. Normally the bread will knead, then sit for up to 20 mins, then continue mixing. then rising then a pause and the a small secondary knead, then rise again. Have you actually just put in the ingredients and left it to itself? If not. Put in the ingredients. Press settings and walk away. If the bread is done then you were perhaps a little too anxious. If it isn't then you know it needs servicing. Good luck.

Why does bread deflate?

See if the paddle shaft in the bottom of the pan is frozen. If it is, free it up manually. Then get it good and dry and oil it with cooking oil. After that, every time you bake, put the oil for the recipe in first and turn the paddle until it moves freely. Once the oil is in the bearing, it will keep the water out and the machine will move properly. I have gotten away with this fix for hundreds of loaves.

How do i tighten the belt for the paddle?

It's a timing belt, so it isn't supposed to stretch. There is no tension adjustment that I can see. Are the 4 motor screws in place and tight? Is either the motor or the kneading paddle drive shaft turning in its drive wheel? Is the frame bent and causing the belt to walk off one of the pullies? Another problem can be that the bearing in the pan won't turn, then you'll get a loud bump as the drive mechanism tries to turn the paddle in the pan. If this happens, try to free up the paddle by hand so it turns. Then when you bake, always put the oil in the recipe in first and rotate the paddle a few turns to work the oil into the pan bearing. If the oil gets in first, it will keep the water out and the pan will work fine. I've been getting away with this approach for hundreds of loaves.

The menu button don't allow me to move past the number 10. I've done the 3 second reset and nothing. 1:40 keeps flashing. Other then trying the 1 hr unplugged option is there anything else I can try?

The 1 hr unplug is your answer. The machine is in the middle of a cycle, so it can't accept other instructions. It has to be cleared.

I need advise how to remove the machines cover and get access to the driving belt. Alternatively please give me the link for a service/repair manual

There are three exposed screws on the bottom of the machine that can be removed with a Phillips screwdriver. You also need to remove two of the four rubber feet with a Phillips screwdriver. The other two rubber feet also need to be removed, but they have some kind of specialty screw that needs a split-head screwdriver. I just removed them by twisting the entire foot with a pair of pliers. Then the panel pops off fairly easily, and there's the belt. As an aside, the drive belt on mine kept coming off, and just putting it back on didn't help because it would just fall off again. It turned out that the whole bottom of the machine was bent, so the motor gear wasn't lining up with the drive gear. Not sure if this is fixable.

Went thru a complete dough cycle, Turned the machine off. Cleaned the bucket, then went to start another batch. Nothing, no beeps, no lights. Is there a reset?

This happened to me also. What worked for me was to unplug the machine and wait at least an hour, then plug back in. It may reset for you. Good luck

The ingredients aren't mixing. I have to take the dough out and

My experience with the machine is that it kneads perfectly, but you have to use ACTIVE DRY YEAST instead of another kind of yeast, and you have to throw the ingredients into the pan in order - do not mix the ingredients at all - just pour them in, and let the machine do the mixing. Except for substituting between BREAD FLOUR and WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, do not substitute any other ingredients. This one is very picky about the type of ingredients that you use - not for the innovator :-)

How do i override the delay start function

According to page four of the manual linked below, you can simply hit START after selecting 1. Menu item, 2. Crust colour, 3. Loaf size, 4. Mix-ins, 5. START or Delay Start Timer. If the bread machine is running, and you wish to overide the Delay Start Timer, NOTE down the other options selected for Bread Type, Crust Colour, Loaf Size and Mix-ins; then press and HOLD the STOP/PAUSE key for 3+ seconds to re-initiate the breadmaking process. Re-enter the options, and re-start the breadmaker using no Delay Start Timer (Hit START in step 5.) or enter a new Delay Start time and then hit start https://www.cuisinart.com/share/pdf/manuals/cbk-200.pdf

Why does bread deflate

Most likely causes are( in no particular order) -too much salt, too wet a dough ball to start>add more flour, ambient room temperature to cold, water too warm to start>try room temp or slightly warmed water best, old yeast, stale / old flour.

Cuisinart cbk-200 dead after 15 times. How do i reset

When I first got mine, I was playing with it and it was working fine. Then I went to the store to buy ingredients. When I got all my ingredients in the pan and tried to turn it on it wouldn't power on at all. I talked to a CS rep at Cuisinart, she told me to unplug it for a full hour. That did the trick. Maybe this will work for you.

How do I answer someone's question?

I think you first have to make a profile in fixya. Don't need a full profile, but you have to give a mail address, that is not public, only visible for foxy staff. Then when you read a question, you see a box under the question, where you can put in the answer. Added with a photo, video or a link if you have one (ore more)
