The front drain pump filter is plugged with sand

the best way to drain the machane is to lean the machine back prop something under it and then using a bucket take the drain hose out an bring it as low as you can to the floor. This will make it easer for you to open the front at the bottom an clean the drain trap ,it is possible that there will be a little water left in there good luck

They run around $150 online, fairly easy to replace.
The slowing of the machine may be a limp mode, so that you don't tear up the rest of the machine...good luck!

LG front load washer is leaking underneath the front left corner, the display code is FE.

Why don't you simply find out what the FE code is alluding to? Go to web site or do a google search and then you can check for the issue further.

Unscrew the bolt about halfway, then clean the exposed thread with a cloth to remove any oil or dirt. Apply Loctite thread locking compound to the exposed threads and then tighten the bolt securely. Allow for the locking compound to dry overnight before using the machine again.

What does the flashing OE mean?

OE means the drain hose is clogged. UE means unbalanced or overloaded. This is decribed in the owner's manual page 31-32. Pull the hose from the back of machine and rinse it out. Then, check the lint filter on the bottom, front left side. Put drain hose back and close lint filter. Unplug the machine, press and hold the start button for 10 seconds to reset machine computer (not the on button...leave machine turned off and unplugged while resetting computer) plug back in, put on no spin and start the machine. It should drain.

For the last few weeks, my 5 year old LG 2487HRMA, has been giving me de code errors shortly after starting. It is because the lock light just goes from red to off for no reason.

Lift up the top of your washer and there will be a code and test sheet in there that will help lead you to fixing that problem, almost sounds like it went into the its own test mode.

Remove pedestal from washer

Those washers are heavy! They have weights in them to prevent moving when spinning. Some use bolts through the bottom of the pedestal up through the washer and others use bolts down through the washer into the pedestal. Remove the bolts and lift the washer off the pedestal. You might need to get levelling bolts for the washer or check to see if the bolts are on the bottom of the pedestal. Make sure you get help to move the machine.

Water remains in the liquid detergent cup

This is by design. Water flows in and forces the detergent out. There will almost always be a little water left in the cup after a wash routine.

Washing machine will not drain

Does the pump run when it is supposed to? If ok, check the drain hose where it is attached to the bottom of the outer drum. If there is water in the drum and you pull the hose loose at the drum, the water should run out of the hose fitting (into a bucket). If nothing or very little comes out, look for something inside the drum blocking the outlet (a stray sock or similar). If there is no removable plate nearby, then the machine must be dismantled to the point that the inner drum can be removed. Major job!
