We have a Hoover Steamvac F7452 that is leaking water from the bottom of the machine. If we place the water tank on the machine, water immediately starts flowing through to bottom of the machine. It'

When you put the tank on it connects with the unit and opens the valve on the bottom of the tank to allow the water to flow check for debris hair etc around the connection, it is possible the seal itself is worn or bad and needs replacement but I think the trigger only lets air in the tank so the water will flow out by gravity, I'm not positive on this but mine works that way.

Brushes do not spin

The manual suggests cleaning the filter screen near the brush assembly. This is located on the bottom of the unit. In cleaning this it did not successfully help. I then proceeded to take the cover (blue) off the motor an brush drive and worked my way to the gear assembly. This is where I found the actually problem.

The problem: The brushes are driven by a turbine wheel operated with suction from the vacuum. In my unit the turbine and bearings became loose or slipped to the point that the worm gear lost contact with the additional gears that drive the brush. When resetting the assembly so that ample contact is established the unit began to operate fine.

This can be complicated to explain and illustrate therefore taking the unit in for repair is recommended. If you are confident in repairing the unit yourself then go for it.

I have a Hoover F7452900

  • Hi, I can help.

  1. After you remove the brushes there are 4 screws where the brushes were that need to be removed.
  2. Right behind the housing for the brush, on the base, are two more screws that need to be removed.
  3. Now there are two more screws more towards the outside of the base that need to be removed.
  4. Stand the vacuum upright and lower the handle.
  5. Now remove the main suction nozzle.
  6. Now remove the screw that holds that housing where that suction nozzle just was.
  7. Now remove the screws that are above the wheels.
  8. Now the cover will just pull up.
  9. Now you can see and address the turbine.

Brushes won't turn

The brushes are powered by air suction from the motor. At the heart of this complicated system are roller bearings. When one fails the system fails. This is not one of the parts that Hoover thinks is needed on it's parts site so I've haven't found a way to repair this.

We used our hoover carpet

Hello
Either the brushes are not in correctly or there is a lever or slde switch to disable them.

Make sure that lever is in the brushes on position.

Also check that the gears are turning while the brushes are out.

Hoover f7452900 brushes wont turn?

make sure that you have it on the carpet setting and not the hardwood/tile setting. also if you used the hose, make sure that the little door is closed. if all checked... remove the recovery tank, there should be a rubber grament on the stand pipe under the tank, if it is there, then it would have to be the turbine assembly that drives the brushes
