My sirius is stuck on down loading, it still says 0 persent down loading .

Unfortunately some models of the Starmate Replay will not receive the latest updates. I have seen this with XTR8, which is essentially the same radio. If it is one of these outdated receivers, it will not receive the update, and there is not much you can do. You used to be able to let them sit for about 24 hours and it would eventually take. That does not appear to be the case anymore. This isn't the case with ALL of the ST2s if you wanted to hunt down a replacement. www.tss-radio.com can help

Hi, the receiver reads antenna

If the screen is dim, then try a new antenna. Dim screen = shorted antenna connection. If that doesn't solve it, sell it for parts on eBay, you'll get like $5-$20 depending on if it's subscribed.

Your power jack needs to be replaced. You can buy a repair service on eBay. You'll need a new power jack if you'd like to repair it yourself, which you'd need to take from another radio.

More than likely the antenna connection has jogged loose somehow, and just needs to be soldered. The person who handles all of our repairs at TSS Radio does this often, and I'm sure could tell you specifics. His email is [email protected]

My ST2 just died. Still picks up all the channels

This could be because of an amp, or it could just be a bad solder joint. Unfortunately, it's impossible to find an amp to replace it because sirius does not release a schematic. So, most likely it's irreparable.

If you would like to see if it's a bad solder, just leave it near a heater and plug it in. If it works, that should tell you that you should reflow your radio. Reflowing is easy, just remove the circuit board from the plastics and heat it up to 800-1000 degrees F with a heat gun. Let it cool and reassemble.

Your board needs to be reflowed. Just pop the front cover off, remove the assembly from the back and heat it up (non-LCD side) until you see the solder melt (it will turn shiny). Let it cool for 5 minutes afterwards. You can use a heat gun (set to 1000 degrees F) that can be purchased at a hardware store.

This has a 50% success rate. The problem may also be caused by an internal fault, like a blown fuse or faulty component.

Your antenna needs to face a Northwest position to achieve a good signal if it is used for home use. Also any type of blockage such as trees,buildings,hills..etc will cause this while using it in a vehicle. Roof racks and vehicle compasses will also cause this if the antenna is mounted too close to either of them.

What I did, which was a solution I found on FixYa, is to remove the screws from the back of the unit, pop it open, and resolder the 4 connections attached to the power socket.

Problems with the power cord. Loses power.

You have to open it up, break it down carefully to 4 pieces. There are 4 solder points on the female part of power socket. With the radio on the table, have the power socket on your right bottom corner. Apply rosin core solder to the 3 points 0 1
2 3 Use a 15 watt iron from Radio Shack. Solder .032 dia. Carefully put it back together.
