Changing acer t690 processor

Yes, you can change the CPU, but your Motherboard will only support certain processors, Take a look at this Acer Support, you will see the compatible CPU's: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/0000/Acer/AspireT690/AspireT690sp2.shtml Remember : Your machine's component work with one another, within parameters, one component,CPU, will not give you the improvement you might think. CPU, Memory, Graphics Card, Etc.,Upgrades, require more Power/Watts, therefore a new PSU. Which create more heat, new fan. One relies on the other. Do your research, their's a lot more to it than replacing one component. Do a comparison, what will all the components cost, to a new System? The prices for new Good Systems , are low due to slow sales of Desktops/Laptops.

Acer Aspire AST690 won't boot, just beeps.

Hi..

This is an Hardware Failures: Doesn't Boot Up.
First of all, most of the hardware failures that are going to be presented in this article require you to disassemble the laptop and work on its internal components. Because of this, you need the required components to take the laptop apart (such as screwdrivers, etc.) and space, lots of space. If you don't have a workbench, then working on that large table in the living room should do it.

You need to check the memory stick this is the first to diagnose the problem of beeping. Remove the memory stick clean the dust, and reinsert the memory stick, try to use the other memory slot.

Thanks for using fixya

My computersays VERYFYINHDMI poolupdate then turns on after blue screen

bluescreen can be caused by a number of things

a bad or faulty motherboard data lead or its connection if its a flat 40 pin ide it will be the first to failmake sure all leads have a dust free secure connections

a bad driver loose or faulty lead or not having enough ram

you might not have enough RAM random access memory not having enough will cause your computer to run over its maximum limits and can cause the blue screen of death and hang and cause memory dumps

if you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules.

first you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to

compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system

you should always ask the seller if they guarantee the compatability of the ram before making any purchaseif you dont want to install more ram uninstall some unnecessary programs

make sure your ram modules have a dust free secure seating and the CPU central processing unit has thermal paste

if you can get a screen

click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll through all of your devices

if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver

if you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it

or you might have to download one

or it might be a virus right click in bottom toolbar select task manager applications to see what is running and processes to see what is ticking over

Can i run new ati radeon 512mb video memory with 5.0 shader card on acer ACER AST690-U-P925A

1) How much Ram Memory do you have installed? If I have the spec's right, your motherboard's maximum amount of Ram Memory is 2GB.(PC2-5300 would be best, but the amount is what matters, not the 'speed')2) What is the Maximum Wattage for your Power Supply?Takes power for each hardware component in the computer.Motherboard, Processor, Ram Memory, Harddrive, Optical Drive/s, Graphics Card, etc. When purchasing a graphics card, this is one of the minimum system requirements you need to know.Spec's I looked up indicate a 300 Watt power supply. This is the problem. That, and power supply's Acer uses are low quality. If you had at least a 400 Watt power supply, you could use this,http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=41125&Sku=E145-0550Slap that game around, and make it bark.http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3276573&CatId=1483You could also run this if you had the above Power Supply,http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2048679&Sku=M452-7770[Note*No. It does not matter if you are using DDR2 Sdram ram memory, and the graphics card has GDDR5 graphics memory.A graphics card runs independent of the system resources.(Processor and Ram Memory ]For additional questions please post in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette

Hi jeepers 3090...
Shutdown and un-plug your computer...take it outdoors and open it up.
I would recommend that you take the cover/or side off depending on your computer..
After you have your cover off, use high pressure air 50-60 psi to clean the dust out of your hardware on then inside. Dust is going to go everywhere, that is why I recommended that you take it outside to clean.
If you do not have the availability of high pressure air, you can use the "Canned Air"...it will work, but just not as affective.
After cleaning reassemble
Note: DO NOT OVER REV YOUR COOLING FAN/S

I just got cod waw

Hello there,
COD WAW has a minimum system requirements of the following:
CPU: AMD 64 3200+/Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz
RAM: 512MB (XP) / 1GB (VISTA)
HDD: 8 Gigabyte
GPU: 256MB Nvidia 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT
One main reason why you cannot play the game, is that Intel GMA 3100 is not capable of rendering the vertex shaders that has to do with lighting.
  • In order to play the game, you need to buy at least greater than the PCIE video card mentioned. It's that simple.
  • For example buy an ATI HD 4670 512MB or Nvidia 9500GT 512MB consider the memory.
  • Click the link for PCIE Video card installation procedure. Installation

Hopefully you will enjoy COD WAW third person shooter game.
Hopefully this information helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Making a (DIY) Do It Yourself switch will cost you less rather than replacing it with the same switch, if you cant find one.
Tool's
Soldering Iron Soldering lead Desoldering tool (Optional) Shrinkable tube. Wires (Optional)
it might still work, most casing switches looks like this
Figure1: Power Switch with cable and female header pcsyke_33.jpg

Motherboard pcsyke_34.jpg

1. Open your casing, trace the wires of your Power Switch. cut and replace the power button if found defective. some samples of PS buttons.. pcsyke_37.jpg

2. Solder the black and red wires to your new power switch. put the shrinkable tube, apply heat to shrink.
