Acer Aspire t690 Desktop Freezes
It is possible that your computer is overheating and is shutting down to prevent it from doing any harm to itself.
Make sure that all fans are clean, there must be no dust present as it hinders airflow!!!
Install as many fans as possible. Computer temps should be in the region of 30-40 degrees centigrade. To avoid CPU throttling, where the CPU slows down to prevent frying itself.

What kind of video card can I put in it?
This computer of yours has a motherboard that supports a PCI-E type fo video card so you can use almost any PCI-E video card out in the market right now like this one for example NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1GB GDDR3 PCI Express.
Using that video card will result to a better video resolution and can almost play any high end game right now out in the market.
Upgrade ram
In order to upgrade the ram of your desktop. First you have to check the ram specifications. If wrong specifications the desktop will not work. To check you have to remove the ram from your desktop by removing the screws behind your desktop. Open the lid and you will see the contents of your desktop. Besides of your processor, there is ram installed. Unclip it. Then bring that ram to the computer shops. Purchase a ram higher than the ram installed in your desktop. Afterwards, install the new ram to your desktop. Good luck.
I have a laptop Hp with original OS (i3), i found
Yes you can use programs like Partition Magic that allows you to create, resize and merge partitions on your hard drive without destroying data. It can also help organize and protect your data, run multiple operating systems, convert file system types and fix partition table errors.
I have a pc pentium 4 (desktop), everytime i open
I would find out what model your video card is and make sure you have the latest drivers installed. (usually available on company website). Updating windows couldn't hurt either.
It might also be a winamp problem, you might try updating or reinstalling the software and/or checking the 3D Settings.
I don't know if Winamp uses directex, but you might make sure you have the latest version of their software too.
Let me know if this doesn't work.
Unable to remember password for erecovery
There is usually a 3 pin jumper near a coin type battery. The setting the umper is on know is nrm ( normal ) and the position to move it to is rst or bios or something like that. Putting that jumper on that position will clear out your BIOS and take away passwords ( normally ) there are some who use a jumper specifically for clearing password. This is rare but look in your manual anyhow.
The jumper should be moved for about 30 sec. then put back where it was nrm or it won't boot up. You will now have to set your date and time and any other things you've changed in BIOS. Voila. Remember not to password things again.
What should i do to download ubyte4n vertex data
What game? You have Intel Graphics, which if you update the graphics drivers might just support ubyte4n (OpenGL 2.1) vertex data; but if you're running something more sophisticated than Peggle (say, Far Cry) you would want a recent vintage of ATI videocard as no doubt mentioned in the install text and on the game's front matter (box, Steam news, etc.) as well. You get one PCI x16 slot to put such a card in; no SLI (but then the cost stays helpfully under $200.)

Usb ports not powering a keyboard or mouse
Best would be to determine whether any changes was made to the system prior to the error starting. Changes would include Windows updates, driver installations, hardware installations or software installations and upgrades. If you are unable to determine this, then boot into Safe Mode and view the System and Application Logs. Stop any services which may report that it can't start or has some or other error. If Software upgrades has been done, do a roll back on these and remove any newly installed hardware. If no upgrades where done hardware or software wise then disable all devices which is not required to boot the system and disable all services and applications loading on startup which is not required to boot the system. If the system boots after this then enable each program and devices separately ( Re-booting the computer after each one is enabled ), until the system fails. Disable the last device enabled before system failure and continue the process until finished leaving the devices / programs which causes system failure disabled.
When you try to turn the tower on the fans start
probably itz either minor case of improper ground..
or major case of faulty or defective main board/RAM/addon/daughter cards..
..plz do check the following as in order:..
the Hardware part:..
1)
see if the ram(s) is loose/faulty..open clean/remove carbon &
or oxide formed on the teeth with an eraser n resit it..or replace with
a standby n see..
2) on main/mother
board..see with a debug card for mb error..may b short..look for
defective capacitors(espabove1000mfd)/mosfets..go through the mb's
south bridge n the circuit lie around atx connector..the crystal clock
generator (if cpu isn't heating up)..
3) remove/clean dust
neatly..dust is non-uniform in nature n may cause
jam/short circuitry/excess resistance n many more..resulting an increase
in heat..
4) unplug mains supply..pick open/remove the cmos battery..check (above +3v)..resit..
5) [in case of desktop] the
smps itself may b defective/faulty..check the outputs of smps viz. 0v
(black~ground); +12v(yellow); +5v (red, green~ps-on, violet~pg&
grey~sb); -12v (blue);-5v(white); +3.3v(orange)..the 'oscillator and
error amplifier ic',or pwm switching regulator circuit..look
for defective protector-transformer/resistance (esp 4.7k)/mosfet..
check the battery n adapter [main power], in case of laptops..
6) see if ur hdd is noisy or emitting any 'ticking' noise (like 'tuk tuk' or 'kirr kirr')..or ur hdd is likely to b replaced..
for
any further assistance u may plz leave comment and or testimonials at
any point of time, so that i/we can help or u think it to b helpful..
if u r not a professional, always better to seek advise from ur system admin/vendor....
