Is power coming out of transformer at the right voltage. Also may have a power i.c. shorting to ground.Final anp i.c. may have a place to go to ground through a shorted capacitor.

The problem is most likely in the unit. You could have a burned out lite or just a bad connection to the lite. You can take off the volume knob by just pulling on it and checking it out thier, then take the top cover off and follow the wire from the knob and check out the connections.

With onkyo amps with hdmi up scaleing you have to tell the amp to let the signal through.To do this first press the setup button and you will see input assign,press enter,monitor out appers,press enter you will see hdmi out NO,flick enter button to the right this will change to yes,you should have a picture now.

check the tv setting for aspect ratio and make sure it matches the one coming from the cable box.

Hello, To test the subwoofer when the blue light is on if you apply your thumb to the end of the subwoofer cable (the end that you would plug into the receiver) there should be feedback from the sub. If there is no feedback then the sub is not working correctly. Thanks, FJD

Oknkyo SKW-791 has build in amplifier. So it can be connected through Line Out Connector of sansui amplifier. If speakers out is connected with subwoofer, the circuit board in subwoofer will be blown.

You need a RCA sub-woofer cable (analog mono) to connect between the receiver's sub-woofer Pre Out and the sub-woofer. This cable has a single RCA plug at each end of the cable. Question edited to correct all the typos! Onkyo support suggested I reset the unit by holding the video 1 button while pressing power to reset to factory default, which according to the Tech will reset the Logic controls of the unit. Sep 4, 2005
