Connex 3300 240-Channels Base CB Radio - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Wat are the best finals to buy for my 3300 hp zx i
Probably the ones that were originally in it?
Different power finals are generally not interchangeable as they need to have the same pin-out, same voltage, approximately the same current draw, etc. If you're looking for higher output, you will need to change out more than just the finals, in order to support the extra current draw from the higher output finals.
How do u make the talkbalk louder on a connex
There are problems with having a loud talk back. You can get feed back and an annoying squeal when you transmit. That is why the talk back isn't that loud to begin with.
The reason you use talk back is to check your echo, and make sure your mic gain is not too high. It shouldn't need to be that loud to check it.
I highly recommend you leave it at the level that it is.
How do you properly set the settings for normal
I am guessing that you are talking about getting it to talk on the FCC Citizens band. I am not too firmiliar with connex, but this will work with any radio with expaned channels.
Usually you use a frequency counter to see what frequency you are on when you are playing with the bands. If you do not have a frequency counter you can find the CB this way.
If its in a mobile, or you are not really far from a highway where big rigs travel, you can flip to channel 19 on the channel sellector then flip through the bands checking each time to see if you are on the CB 19. When you start to hear truckers or you get a radio check from a trucker your on CB 19. You can always ask the person, "this is 19 right"?
I recomend geting a frequency counter.
MIc. feed back
When ever an Export radio is modified and tuned especially the talk back it will feed back bad!! When you have this tune done to the radio the stock microphone is no longer any good to use and no longer an option!! The radio tech. should have explained this to you!! You will now have to use a very good quality Noise cancelling Microphone for the Connex it is recommended to use an Astatic 636L Microphone. They work real well with the Export radios or if you prefer you can get an Turner RK-56 Microphone but they are alot more expensive and my opinion is the the RK-56 is over rated and they do rob your radio of some audio!! The Astatic 636L gets rid of most feedback problem and make your voice soumd crisp and claer!! If that dont do the trick than you have to take the radio back to the tech that did the work and tell them to install a larger resistance on the talback modification they did!! Connex 3300 radio
If their isn't a switch you will have to go into it and disconnect it. I would recommend having a professional do this. It is very miticulous.
Channel light wont come on. can not key up or
Hi there!!
It looks like your problem would be your Voltage regulator has either went bad or if your radio is mounted in a truck that vibrates alot then one of the three legs of the Voltage regulator has broke loos from the board. If you do not have experiance in electronics or soldering you should let a Radio Tech. do it for you or you could damage the radio!!! If you choose to do it your self then you must disconect from power then take the covers off of the radio. Turn the radio up side down and look inside the radio you will see the PC board has many compnents inside and beside each one there is a letter and numbers followed by the letter. look to your right and you will see a smaller PC board mounted to the right side with 2 screws to the out side of the chassis. Remove the 2 screws and carfully move the board out of the way so you can see the main PC board. Look down on the right edge of the main PC board and you will see a small black transistor with 3 legs on it the number on the PC board is TR41 when you find it turn the radio over and inspect the 3 legs that are soldered to the PC board and look for a crack or loose solder joint if you find one resolder it or resolder all three legs. If there is indeed a crack or bad solder joint then resoldering it should bring it back to life again!! If not then you may need to replace it with another one!! There is another transistor not to far fron the voltage regulator that may have went bad too it is TR40 that works with the regulator but is unlikely the problem but you never know. Try TR41 first it should fix it for ya. Feel free to E-mail us with any other questions that you may have at:

Killer radio needs help
I'm not sure if this will solve anything...but here it goes.
1st..Make sure you antenna connections are tight. it sound like it is arcing.
2nd.. make sure you SWR is very low. 1.5 or lower. (very important)
3rd.. make sure the rf power at your radio is turned down to low..over powering (over driving) your amp will fry your finals. (just as important)
If it's not any of these..then I'm not sure.
I have always used an Road King RK56. Not the knock off but the real deal. I would sometimes shock my lips on the metal grille , when I keyed up with my linear on high. I could also power flourescent lights when I got under them..lol and that was with a 250w box and a galaxy 99!
I have a Connex3300hp. Radio has NO mods done to
First of all check that the battery is good. Sometimes when a battery in the mic starts going bad the radio squeals. Another thing could be the connection imn the mic plug could be going bad. Perhaps a frayed wire making contacting with another pin. Check that as well. Also if the mic gain on the radio is set to high it can cause this symptom as well. Please let me know. If this helped.............

Static restricting rf signal
Are you using the factory coax. A lot of Internationals have a terrible setup from the factory, they run the coax into a junction box and run your cb coax and your fm radio out of it. You could be getting bad rf feedback through from the FM radio. I would next try a regular antenna mounting bracket setup with a good stranded center coax with at least a 95% braided shielding. You have been on the right track, most problems like this is a process of elimination. If this doesn't fix the problem, or you already have this setup, please reply on here or email me at:

I would be more than happy to assist you with your problem.
