Connex 3300 240-Channels Base CB Radio - Page 7 Questions & Answers
How should the conex 3300xl be set up for cb
Put the band switch on Lo, and the band dial to D/A, then you are in the CB band.
You may want to pic up a frequency counter for that radio. It will make it a lot easier to figure out where your at.
How can i disconnect the talk back on a connex
in older connex 3300's you cannot disable the talk back. Its part of the audio chain. If you disable the talk back you will loose your audio. There are 2 things you can do.
Hook a relay to the speaker so that when the radio key's id disconnects the speaker. (Big pain, not worth the trouble.)
The other will not disable the talk back but it will stop any squealing.
Use a noise canceling mic. An RK-56 will work great. You will get no squealing with that mic.

Hi, my name is John. Take the cover off the radio. You will need a soldering iron and solder. You can purchase at Radio Shack. Plug the solder iron in and let it get hot enough to melt the solder. Solder where you broke the ground, also check around the circuit to see that no more damage was done. replace the cover, remount using shorter screws, enjoy. Hope this was helpful..Rate this solution on the four thumbs-up. Good luck.....John
I have a Connex 3300.
The center wire doesn't do anything. Its the outer wires. You can get a standard CB plug with 2 wires that will work just fine. If that plug fits, I it will work. My concern would be if the pos and neg are the correct sides. It should be, But I wouldn't know unless I looked at it.
DO NOT HOOK the radio up with the power wires backwards. Or you will blow the polarity protection diodes. They are there to blow if the radio is hooked up backwards.
If you look at the plug. There is a side the goes to a point, and the other side is square. The black wire, Ground, should be on the side that goes to a point. If it does, then that plug is standard.
It's fine to use and hook up in the usual way. Do not hook up the center wire. It does nothing in the radio. You can clip it, and put a bit of shrink tube on the end as so it does not have a chance to short on anything.
If you are not sure about hooking this power cord to your connex, just go on ebay, and get a regualr CB power wire. They are cheap. It should only have 2 wires.

Hi, my name is John. Try a external speaker, plug it in the back of radio, turn the RF GAIN to MAX. Turn the SQUELCH all the way to left, make sure the select knob is on CB, and on AM...try all this and if that's does not do it, let me know, I will post other steps here,.... hope this was very helpful....
Plug power cord to radio and the radio try's to
Hi radams58
I have seen this one before and it can be aggravation I recommend replacing the the plug on the wire and in the radio so it will be less of an issue in the future. I have gotten where I almost hate an export power plug for this reason. I would be sure that the local cb shop can supply both of these items at a reasonable price.

Feed back thru external speaker, very bad
Have your antenna checked at a place that knows what they're doing. If your antenna system is bad, ground problem, coax bad mount or maybe just a wrong or bad antenna. Then the sounds not getting out the antenna and its feeding back thur the radio. If your echo board was bad then your radio wouldn't transmitt at all.
If you unplug your external speaker will it squeal? If not do the antenna and if that reads fine just try a better speaker like a uniden 20watt speaker.I own a CB shop and this is easy to fix.
My radio i can key up the light changes but
First off you can by any radio parts that you need and any good CB shop knows that. But if its only a little over a year old then you can send it back to factory and it'll be fixed free. There is a serial number on the back of the radio the first to digits is the year and the second two the month it was made so is a year or a little over a year old if so call 1-814-898-1046.
Does anybody know anyting about the new connex cx 3400 hp
Hello,
This radio are know as what's called 'export' radio. They
are imported under the auspices of being a 10 Meter Amateur radio and
then through a typically easy modification are made to allow the
selection of US CB channels. usually the modification involves plugging
in a loose connector inside the radio radio chassis and/or removing a
jumper wire soldered to a circuit board. If there is a nearby CB Shop
they will usually do this for a modest fee.
Keep in mind that a
radio needs to be Type Accepted by the FCC to be legal to use on the CB
band in the US and export radios typically are not. Be sure to check
the rear label for an FCC ID number.
thanks.
