rf gain is about local coms if you want your cb to RX far away stuff set it too high but local stuff like friends family that are local then you want too set rf gain to low then only local signal can trigger the squelch ... so the radio will ignore the static and only trigger you when needed ? see what i mean rf gain ye a DX guy will set it high or too listen to people like over 50K away and let then break the squelch...min

the switch for low and high power the contacts are gone or you need to check the DC voltage to the output section and the voltage drop on TX usually the likes of the cobra 148GTLDX has a bridge board you can remove and add some LCD DVM for current monitors and setting of bias etc so perhaps a regulator has failed or a resistor or the contacts on the switch you need to trace it out using current readings

yes,but you want to make sure your antenna is tuneable.If your SWR is to high or to low you want to be able to adjust the antenna to bring the match up or down.Anything under a 1.9:1 is ok but the lower the better

the predator 10k is what i run on a quad mag mount with a peaked n tuned galaxy 98vhp doing around 250 true watts and im talking every where i can hear you have some issues goin on over there

has any one other than got into this radio?If some one else did its quite possable they may have tried to open the channels.You are the only one thats been in this radio. Have you played with the clarifier? maybe you shorted a diode or something. The best thing to do is take it to a tech and let him work on it because thats what you"re going to have to do anyway unless you have all the equipment to fix it.

If it is new take it back and have it checked
