The AVIC D3 is not pioneers best. The navigation side of the unit is wearing out. The slider slot in the dvd and other moving parts are wearing down fractionally and that is all it takes for the unit to no longer read the high density map data discs. The map disc is a dual layer 8.5gb disc and it is just about max out. (The disc must be in the unit for the navigation to work.) This is a lot of information and the unit must be able to read every bit of data on the disc or it will error out. All it takes is the fractional wear to mess up the tracking of the laser over the disc and cause problems reading the data on the disc. When the unit spins and spins, it is working hard to read something on the disc and will eventually error out if it can't. Also a fingerprint or tiny spot on the disc will prevent the unit from reading the disc. (Clean with a drop of water and soft cotton cloth even if it looks clean.) The data is information or instructions telling the unit what to do, and if it misses any information it will go crazy and error out. This is very different from music or video/movies that just play and if a spot is on the disc it will just be a fuzzy picture or static from that spot. If you have a disc your system likes, take care of it. I say likes because every disc has fractional differences in data location on the disc. (This is tolerance) That fractional difference could make or break the ability of your unit to read the map disc. So one possible fix is trying different disc to see if your unit will like one of them. Still eventually this also will die. These units are beyond their life cycle and the dvd drive is operating on borrowed time. I hope this helps.

First what system do you have? The D3 or the 4300. You might check to see if you turned on the rearview camera. If so this could be your problem. The rearview camera comes on when you put the vehicle in reverse, turning off anything else until the vehicle is put back into another gear.

The D3 does not have a good navigation system in it, and because it is old and beyond its life cycle the fractional wear on the drive causes it to have trouble reading discs. Try cleaning the disc with a little water and soft cotton cloth. Do not touch the bottom of the disc after you clean it. If that does not work, then you need a new disc. You can try making a copy of the disc you have. If the program on the disc is good then you just need a copy that your unit will like. To make it simple.

That is the message you get when you are connected to a backup camera. When you put the car in reverse it will switch automatically if you have the reverse trigger hooked up. you can also switch to the camera while driving and use it as a rear view cam. Some backup cameras actually reverse the image while some do not. If you don't have a backup camera you need to turn that source off and it will stop appearing. I had the same unit in my car with the camera and it was great. Pioneer makes a nice camera but you can find a number of them from other makers that are just as good.

Time Adjusts the systems clock. The time difference (+, -) between the time originally set in your navigation system is set here. If necessary, set to summer time. Daylight Saving Time (DST) is off by default. Touch "Off" to change the time if you are in the daylight saving period. This turns the display below summer time "On". 9 To complete the setting, touch "Back". The map of your surroundings appears. This completes the setup of your navigation system. you need to do a safety bypass to the ebrake sensing wire (this is a safety feature to prevent accidents) Remove the wire fromt he Remote slot(blue wire) and put it in the blank hole in the plug provided with your stereo... now ground the wire you have now bypassed the safety protocal and enabled video while moving a google search for pioneet avic bypass will yeild vidoes or a youtube search for a video tutorial

Change the Region Code to 4.
