You may not need anything. Most people test their oven with a dial type oven thermometer. They are slow to react and often not very accurate. When I test an oven or install a new thermostat, I use a digital thermometer with a remote temperature probe, hanging from the center of the oven, which shows the temp in tenths of a degree. I let the oven cycle on and off at least three times, then take the high and lower readings on the next cycle and average that out to see what the actual oven temp is. Most of the time, if there is a dial type thermometer in the oven it is very slow to react. After 3 to 5 cycles, they often show close to what the actual oven temp is, but the only way to know for sure is to use the more accurate digital thermometer. Most ranges with digital displays can be adjusted + or - about 35 degrees. Check your users manual for this info, but don't mess with it until you have checked the oven with a digital thermometer! Take off the top cover plate inside the oven. Now with the door open turn the oven on does the hot surface glow? If it doesn't glow then you have a bad igniter and needs to be replaced. What ever you do don't touch the surface of the new igniter human oil will shorten the life of the igniter. now if the hot surface glows then the gas valve is bad and need to be replaced. I'm betting it's the hot surface.

HI The range timer is usually located in the control panel on top of the range. If you suspect the timer is faulty, don't try to fix it yourself. Remove it and take it to a professional service person for testing. Here's how to remove the timer:

Step 1: Remove the back service panel to the control panel and release the spring clips that hold it in position, or remove the retaining screws.

Step 2: Push the timer forward to release it.

Step 3: Remove the electrical lead wires from the timer housing. If, when disassembling the timer, you notice that the electrical wire terminals look burned, remove these leads and buff the leads and the terminal points with fine steel wool. Burned and/or dirty terminals can cause the timer to malfunction, but a good cleaning can solve this problem.

Step 4: Replace the old timer or install a new one of the same size and type, if this is necessary. Connect the new timer the same way the old one was connected.

To change the thermostat on a Defy oven with the serial number DGS 158 AA 14 11 100288, follow these steps:

I have the same problem with a Kenmore oven. Looks like the oven walls have bent outward.

Its not always the oven temperature sensor. can also be a bad circuitboard. or config figuration. there is a on youtube someone how to do it. i had a 20 year old oven with de failcode F 03. fixt it with the config and it works again.

Hi, you have to switch off the machine for some minutes. After restarting push the "SET" and "OK" together and you will get the service menu, where you have to change "EUR" to "EURN". If the service menu doesn't activated you have to remove the calbe of display from control unit for some minutes and restart again.
