I need to change the

The NAT settings are in the game (console) it self, NOT in the router... The NAT term for a router is Network Address Translation... I don't know who had the bright idea to use the term NAT for game settings but he was an IDIOT... I think the term NAT in the gaming world is for controlling user access nothing to do with Network Address Translation of a router.... your router uses NAT to Translate IP addressing from the WAN side to the LAN side (OK this might be to technical for you) but in other words it is what the router uses to Translate the traffic from the WEB to your HOME NETWORK... nothing to do with gaming what so ever...

Make sure the you are wired correctly. 1) The incoming cable/dsl to the modem. 2) The modem to the WAN (Internet) RJ 45 connection on the router. 3) The router wired to the computer during set up. You can not set up the router unless you are hard wired to the router.
Then try connecting using the IP address Belkin sent you. Probably 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Use Internet Explorer.

Xbox live, change nat from strict to open...belkin

On your router configuration page (192.168.2.1), you should see a link for the DMZ, put your Xbox 360's IP in the DMZ, and save it. You may want to set your Xbox up with a static IP for this. It puts it outside the network and requires no port forwarding.

I need passkey?

Hi,

You set your passkey yourself when you setup the router. During WPA, WEP setup, its asks what passkey do you want to use for security.

If its your own router and you forgot your passkey, reset it from the small button given at the backside.

In case its not your router, you have to ask its owner for the passkey, else you wont be able to access it.

Please vote the solution if found helpful.

No signal to my pc, the blue light goes to orange

login problems to and from modem.

check your dsl lights or cable lights

and also make sure you are plugged in to the WAN part from the modem to router.

Once you have that check turn off modem for 3 minutes also have router turned off.
turn on router first wait 1 minutes then turn on modem. you might have to reset router to defaults.
depends of you bought it new then i wouldnt worry about resetting it.

Unplug both devices, the plug in router first then plug in modem to see if that helps.
you might need to get the PPPOE setting too. usually its the full email address and password.
since you gave no detail on what comapny you have and what service you have im shooting in the dark here. :) I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_92c86cbc79e9b552

Bought a new laptop. Forgot

Yes you can reset your router to factory defaults. You should find a little hole on back of unit near the power plug hole.

Insert a straighten paperclip while power is on. Hold it for about 10 seconds. After that, unplug power on your modem and the router. Plug back the power on the MODEM FIRST and wait 1 min. Then plug back the power on your router. Wait about 20 sec and the internet should be ok now.

If you still have the setup CD, go ahead making your setup and choose a new passcode. If you don't have it you can email me and I will guide you with manual access to your router settings.

I have strict nat type

You need to access your router and set uPnP to enabled.
to do this you have yo use your browser to access the router - the address for the router will be an Internet Protocol (IP) address.
Log into the router and select uPnP (usually on the security or advanced option)
if you let me know the make and model of your router I can give you more specific instructions.
If your router does not have a uPnP option (and this is very unlikely) again let me know and I can give you detail on port forwarding and how to do it.

How do i turn off

Open INTERNET EXPLORER and. (In the URL address field), enter the IP address for your wireless router ( the DEFAULT GATEWAY. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "198.168.1.1" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.do not type "www" just the number
Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual. If you don't have this information, go to routerpasswords.com and find the brand and model of your router. This site lists the default login information for most wireless routers you can try "ADMIN" for user name and "PASSWORD" for passsword.
You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as SSID (wireless network name) and passwords.

How do i put a password on my internet

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you want to make your connection secure by using a password you need to access the router settings page and change the security type. Follow the instruction below on how to make the connection secure.

- You need to know the ipaddress of your router. You can refer to the manual or check the Default Gateway of your computer (Make sure that you connect the computer to the router using an ethernet cable for you to get the Default Gateway). Click on START then RUN. Type CMD on the small box on the lower left of the screen. Type IPCONFIG on the black window and get the value of your DEFAULT GATEWAY (it starts with 192.168.x.x).

- Open a Browser, Type the DEFAULT GATEWAY or the Ipaddress of the router on the address bar of your Browser. It will ask you for a username and password. For Belkin Router it usually ask for a Password. If it ask you for a username and password just leave it blank

- Click on Encryption, You can select either WEP, WPA or WPA2 to make it secure. Then personalize a password. Then confirm the changes try you wireless machine to connect.

Make sure you connect to your SSID and enter the personalize network key. Network key serves as a password on the network so that no one can access the internet unless they knw the password.

Thanks for using Fixya.
