My router is security locked.

Reset the router to factory configuration by using a paper clip or similar item to (while the router is on) depress the "Reset" switch on the back of the router. Hold it for about ten seconds, then release. This should put your router back to factory specs. You'll then have to log back in to the router using the web interface and re-enter your wireless settings.

It also sounds like someone perhaps hacked your router. When you re-enter your settings, I suggest you change the user name to something only you know, and also the router access password (not the wireless key) to a strong password that, again, only you know. This should keep anyone from locking you out of your own router.

Hope that's helpful.

I have strict nat type

You need to access your router and set uPnP to enabled.
to do this you have yo use your browser to access the router - the address for the router will be an Internet Protocol (IP) address.
Log into the router and select uPnP (usually on the security or advanced option)
if you let me know the make and model of your router I can give you more specific instructions.
If your router does not have a uPnP option (and this is very unlikely) again let me know and I can give you detail on port forwarding and how to do it.

Forgot my security password.

you'll need to perform a reset and reconfigure it:

Setup steps:

  1. Locate the reset hole on the router. The button will be on the back or side of the router.
    See images below:

routerreset1.gifrouterreset2.gif

  1. Leave the router powered on.
  2. Use a paperclip (or similar) to press and hold in the reset button for 10 seconds.
  3. Remove the paperclip.
  4. Wait approximately one minute for the router to restart.

The settings for the router have now been reset back to their default

Check the main computer you set up the network router with...you may need to go to the network status and tasks in control panel...click on this...then you will see a map of all the network devices connected...find the belkin router and click on it...in this window there should be a tab called wireless properties..click this...the wireless properties first page should have the wireless SSID name listed here...and if you click the security tab then the security type and network key are displayed here..You need to write down the SSID, security type, and network key and make sdure the toshiba laptop setting for the wireless network are exactly the same. My Belkin G Wireless Router

Hi there,
We wish a very Happy New Year.
What are the lights which would come up on the router when there is no wireless connection? Does it say "Limited or no connectivity"? call your Internet service provider and ask if your connection is under stabilization Period? Make sure that there are no other Wireless devices kept between Router and the computer.
Hope this helps. Cheers!!!!!

I have set up a

Hi Andrew,

This should be an easy one to fix. First, unplug power from the modem and the router for 30 seconds. Power on the modem first and wait one minute. Now power on the router and wait one more minute. This will remedy the limited access issue.

Now we'll fix the 'settings don't match' issue. Here's what's probably happening:

You had connected to your wireless network with no password previously and windows saved a connection to this network. Now, you are trying to connect with security enabled and windows is saying "hey, I know this network, but my saved connection doesn't have any security"

So.....you need to delete the existing connection to your wireless network and then re-connect to it.

In windows 7, go to control panel and click on the network and sharing centre. now click on manage wireless networks and delete the connection to your home wireles network.

Now reconnect to your wireless network and you will be asked for the password. Enter it and everything should be good.

Please let me know if this helps. I f not, get back to me and I can help some more.

Regards,

Joe

I BOUGHT A BLUERAY PLAYER NOW SAYS NO CONNECTION

Well first you have to connect the router to your modem for the internet and follow the steps in instructions to set up router. Make you are able to connect to internet on your pc. Then you will have to make sure that your blue ray has wifi built in or is wifi ready with the wifi adapter. if not you can run a network cable from the router to the blueray. You will then search fro a network connection on your bluray and connect it. Hope this helps, best of luck to you :)
