When the turntable plays, do you get a howling bass heavy sound? Have you tried turning down the volume and bass? If that corrects the problem, you have what's known as Acoustic Feedback. Check to make sure the tonearm is properly set up first. If it is, please visit my website at Audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me there. Thank you.

Pioneer turntable to Pioneer VSX 515 receiver

I'm not sure what you mean by "Wot", but I assume you mean that the receiver doesn't have a phono input, as most receivers now a days don't. You will need a phono preamp. Cost is under $25.00. It provides the amplification to be able to use any high level(CD, DVD, AUX, etc) input as well as the RIAA equalization you need to decode the record correctly. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

How to adjust the speed using the lights.

When the turntable spins the light shines on the edge. You will see at least two indications. One for 45 and one for 33. With the record playing you should adjust the speed control, till one of the indents appears static and not moving. You will have to do this for both speeds. You also might see some varations in speed. These are quite normal and getting it right is trial and error. It will only read true when the stylus is on the record too. If you can't get the indication to stay still then there is something wrong with the drive.

Some of the lps i buy do not fit the table. for instance, usually the edge of the record scrapes the arm stand. Now though, i have a record that wont even turn because it seems too wide. any idea?

I had the same problem, at first I would just gently file down the edges of the records with a nail file, but when they got too many I decided to tackle the root of the problem and used a sharp blade to shave off some of the plastic of the arm stand, about 1 mm. No problems since!

I just bought a pioneer pl-420 direct drive record

If the player has a MD/MC pickup head, you need to use an input suitable for MD/MC
(Magneto Dynamic/Moving Coil). If that is not available, you need to buy a standalone
phono pre-amp (pre-amplifier with RIAA-correction curve). Like the TCC TC-400G/L.
Example: See HERE and some info HERE.

Very odd! Sounds like it's not fitting in right. Are you sure that you have the right type of stylus for the cartridge? If in doubt replace the entire cartridge & Stylus. If it still plays up then it's in your amp after that course of action.

How install belt on pioneer turntable model PL. I

The simple rule of thumb is after you lift up the turntable platter turn it upside down and see if the belt sits on the inner rim tightly. That is if you after putting the belt on the rim and shake it upside down the belt should not fall off. And if you want to measure the belt-- remove it and place it in cold water for an hour and then after wiping it clean place it on its flat side on a table ( best is glass surface ). Measure its length with out stretching it in centimeters and subtract about a centimeter from the total. This will give you a new belts measurement
Eg; If the belt measures 19cm, subtract 1cm from it and go buy an 18cm.belt for replacement.
