Plug in sldz 1200 no power tried another cord
You need to use a ohm meter (you can get one cheap) and find out if the power switch is working. You can also determine with it if the power is getting into the turntable. If the switch is working and power is getting to it, then either the transformer has failed or something is wrong in the power supply section.

Plays warped
You will need to check your belt for wear. Lift felt on platter and check belt tension. It may need replacing. To replace, simply lift platter section of the unit, taking note of the belt position. replace and your problem will be solved

I want to ship a Sl-Dz1200 Tehnics Turntable. How
These newer models do not have the locking feature. As it is no longer required. Just make sure it's packed well, and doesn't move around alot in the box. Make sure it's nice and firm to minimize any vibrations and rough handling. I would suggest getting it professionally packaged, this way, if anything does happen, the company who packed it will be responsible. Use UPS Store to be safe.

Technics SL-DZ 1200
More than likely the traverse assembly needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, this is not easy, as Panasonic does not sell this assembly complete. YOu will have to purchase each part individually, and this in itself is not an easy task. Only an service tech knowledgeable with this unit will be able to help you out with this. Unfortunately, I cannot refer you to anyone in Taiwan.
Panasonic service is useless all over the world. I have never heard of a good repair story about Panasonic, so it's good that they didn't attempt the repair. Go with a independent reputable local service center.
Your always welcomed to ship it to us here in NY. But it wont' be cheap, and there could be more damage to the unit during transit. Just a suggestion though, if you can't find anyone in your area.
Good luck!

BaD SouND
Do you have the unit in Turntable mode? Can you describe the distorted sound? Is it a hum, sound cuts in/out, scratchy sound? There have been alot of issues which plagued this unit. We get at least 1-2 a week in here for various issues. Although, I've never had one with distorted sound, that wasn't caused by something else (bad RCA cables, faulty mixer line, etc).
So make sure it is the unit. If so, you will need to take this in to a qualified service center for repair as determining the issue requires the tech run some test on the unit.

Audio skipping...
Hi there, i'm not exactly sure if your laser is as you say "POOCHED" I also have an sl-dz1200 that seems to be doing the same thing as yours (skipping or slurring at one particular point) i don't believe that the laser would be "pooched" but the laser would definatly need cleaning. i also believe that the problem may lie somewhere with the direct drive motor for the platter and mechanics of the cd player itself (think caching in pc's) if your pc isnt set up right you music sounds skippy, slurry or even broken (please don't quote me on this problem because i'm not an expert) but i have also noticed that the problem still occurs at the same spots on my unit when the music has been paused and i manualy push the platter around to simulate the same motion of playback, I'm putting my unit in to be serviced in two weeks. If you like i could keep in contact with you and let you know what the problem ends up being my details are:
