No wireless on my 430ex flash
This Canon flash gun does not have a true wireless (radio) trigger. It uses optical light pulse.A user manual can be downloaded from this WEB site.http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0300411601.html
Just got a Canon 7D. Attached my 430EX to the hot
Make sure you using flash grade batteries and not rechargables. try energiser ultra or litiums or duracelll plus but nothing else. if the charge light is not coming up then most likely batteries. I would take it to your local camera shot and test your 7d with one of thier 430 just to make sure the hotshoe didnt short out the flashgun
Hi, I have a Canon
Okay big breath, The Rebel T1i controls the flash (one reason you turn the flash on and off that's it) so you may have simply switched metering modes, with flash you should be on Evaluative mode.
Another thing is the camera may have been programed for TTL in the Menu E-TTL is the "normal" but if it's changed then the changes stays until you change it back.
I think it's the metering mode but if not you need to go into the camera Menu, Flash Control, External Flash, Flash Mode then select E-TTL. I found this all in a PDF manual of the Rebel T1i pages 139 through 141.
Hope this was a help.
Canon 50D doesn't recognize new Speedlite 430EX
Check the contacts on both the camer and the lens. I usually clean mine with methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol.
I have to do this every 3 months or so as dirt or even oils from your hands can stop the contacts from working properly.
Speedlite 430EXII Flash not working.
Batteries
Does it fire when you push the test button (red light)?
If so make sure the contacts on the lens and on your camera are clean. My speedlites sometimes don't fire after heavy use and I clean the contacts with a soft cloth and some methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol.
Hope this works for you.
Speedlite 430ex, pilot light on,
Typically, it means your batteries are low but I am sure that you know that already.
The next cause is a mechanical failure. The flash has capacitors that **** up the battery power until they have a full charge and the trigger the ready light. Therefore, if your batteries are good then it is likely that the capacitors are disconnected or have failed. Eitherway, you will most likely have to send it out to a Canon service center. You can find service centers at
www.canonusa.com.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
Camera Canon Rebel XSI not recognise flash 430Ex.
Clean the Hot Shoe and make sure there is no sulfur layer or dirt. MOst of the time its happens for Sulfur layer and not proper connection with flash shoe and camera shoe. Make sure all this and let me know. Also make sure the battery of the flash are fully charged and thats turn on mode.
MY FLASH IS NOT FIRING AT ALL....EVERYTHING TURNS
If you can't get the test (force) flash to work then it's a good chance the tube has given up the ghost ot there's a gremlin in the cicuitry. I certainly wouldn't recommend pulling it down if you aren't experienced with flashguns. You're likely to light up the room with your eyes if you happen to touch the wrong connection. Just a few thousand volts, enough to wake you up in a hurry or enough to kill if your heart is dicky.
Is the "flash ready" or similar light working on the rear. There should be some indication that the flash is charged and ready to go. If that isn't alight try changing to a fresh set of batteries. Weak ones will light up the display but lack the punch to charge the storage capacitors. It's a possibility worth trying before seeing the repair man.
My 430 is making a buzzing noise then it flickers
the buzzing noise is normal for that model .. first it makes noise as it charges and maintains the capacitor then when it auto focuses ..
here is a discussion of your speedlite model and the buzzing it produces
