Remoteless

the light that blinks really would be the lightbulbs on the machine ,to programm the remote you must first press the smart button on the machine and then press the button that you would like to program on the remote , now you watch for the lightbulbs to click off and then on again , this is the machines way of saying i accepted the code , check your manual for the location of the smart button ,some machines have them on the left for two light units that are side mount or some of the units also have them on the rear of the machine ,theese are usually brightly colored square plastic buttons , it will also have a small led light beside it that blinks from time to time , this would be the rolling code technoledgy of todays more modern openers , You can also remove the plastic light covers to see this button ,remember wherever the bell wires and infrared wires from the senser go ,That will be the location of the smart button ,because that would be the mother board where all the functions are performed , Hopefully i was able to help you and i Thank you for the question ,now get crackin and program that remote Sincerly Glenn Mayer

Door won't go down

Yes ,your path may be clear and you might have two indicator lights lit,but remember that theese sensors are called a sender and a reciever, the sender send,s a signal to the reciever to let it know that alls clear and their are no obsructions , but i can tell you from experience that if your sensor has the slightest fliker it will not allow the door to come down as a safety feature that was incorporated in all machines by law from 13 years ago, First thing you want to do is find out which sensor is the reciever and this is very easy ,Just put your hand in front of one of the camera,s ....The one sensor that,s light goes out is the receiver, Thats because it is not receiving a signal ! Now I want you to make shure it is straight in it,s holder, aiming directly accross from the other sensor! Next go to the sender ,This beam is the crucial one and must be directly pointed at the reciever, notice the light on the sensor it is always solid and will not go out ,Next i want you to go back to the reciever and loosen up the wingnut that holds the sensor in the bracket , as you move the sensor up to down and left to right notice the light on the receiver become dim and bright and flicker as you move it from the direct path of the sender , this is exactly what i want you to adjust to it,s brightest light possible , after you have tightened it back up go over to the wallpad or doorbell that operates the door and see if your problem has now dissapeared , Thank you for letting me try to help you and hopefully we fixed together Sincerely Glenn Mayer

Capacitor Short after Gear Assembley Replacement.

Asolutely , capacitors are what we call in the buisness ,starter motors, theese cylinders hold the juice to start the motor in motion ,,do yourself a favor ! don,t buy this part from a garage door supplier because they will get you for 20-30 bucks , Instead go to any good electronics store , and i don,t mean Radio Shack, You want to go to a store that carries electronic parts such as diodes and computer coards and led lights because theese stores also carry capacitors and lots of them , I pay at my local electronics store about 7 bucks and as long as the ratings the same it will worf fine also if the rating is a little higher it also will work , bring your old capacitor with you so they can match it , I go to a place in pompton plains,n.j. called Wayne Electronics they might even be able to ship it to you in the mail if you don,t live around the area , well good luck and i hope i was able to answer your question, Thank you for the oppurtunity to help you , Sincerely Glenn Mayer

Door will go down only if i keep button pressed

This is what we call in the buisness a constant hold down , that means that the sensors are not aligned , be careful when checking theese sensors because even the slightest flicker will send a false signal to the opener and not allow it to come down , I have installed over 27 thousand ..yes thousand machines to date and i,ve seen it all also make shure the sensor lenses are free of dirt or cobwebs , so now you need to check theese things and also if you realign the sensor and you only have to do one ! make shure you have a steady solid light, is their is a short in the wire ,you should splice a new wire in its place black to black and white to white as they are color coded universaly, also check for brooms and shovels and the typical junk that people usually put in the corners of the garage ,i,ve had many service calls and just had to move a broom that was in the way of the sensor , the beam must be unobstructed and the lights should be bright and solid without any flicker , also green light is the sending unit and the yellow light means it,s the recieving unit on your sensors , Hope you have luck and i was able to help you ,thanks so much for the questionSincerely glenn

I am trying to wire

bell wire is color coded ,red terminal red wire ,white terminal white wire , when connecting theese wires be careful not to staple into one by accident because it will definetly cause a short , don,t worry it won,t cause a fire because it is low voltage , you can stick the wire in your mouth and still not get a shock , but seriously the wire that comes with theese machines is flimsy and can get broken fairly easy , just double check your wiring , infrared sensors are white and black and must be put in the proper stick in terminals on the machine , Here is your configuration from left to right ,RED/WHITE /WHITE,BLACK , remember do not take the white wires from sensors and stick them into the white terminal next to red because that one is for the bell and the whit thats next to the black is for the infrared sensors ONLY theese two cannot be crossed and always keep the two wires together till your ready to wire to the machine because if you seperate them before they are impossible to distinguish from one another when it comes time to wire it to the opener ,Hopefully i was able to help you ,if you have any more questions i will be happy to answer them , lets get this thing working Sincerely Glenn

Remote has stopped working

Its possible you held the learn button down too long, this will erase all remotes. The best way to fix this is to press the learn button once and the hold down the button on the remote until the lights blink, you will have to do this with all remotes.
hope this helps.

Light Problems on garage Door Opener

Its possible there could be a problem with the circuit board, the other possibility is that every time you break the beam of the photo-eyes located at the bottom of the tracks, the lights come on for another 4.5 minutes (if it is a chamberlin brand opener).

Replaced sprocket and worm gear on chamberlain 1/2 opener

The easiest way to fix this would be to take the chain off the sproket with the door and the trolley in the down position. Next hit the wall button and pay attn. to weather the gear is turning clockwise, you want it to turn that direction, wait until the unit stops by itself, next put the chain back on and now you should be able to adjust the limits. otherwise you should call a local professional. They will usually service your door as well as fix your opener.

Orange light flashes 5 times

It sounds like it might be a capacitor or possibly an RPM sensor. If your opener is 10 years or older it might be better to replace the whole unit. your best bet would be to call a local professional.
hope this helps.

Chamberlain Whisper garage door system that only closes 3/4...

One sensor should always be yellow, the other should be SOLID green.
If the lights are not consistently SOLID, you have a sensor issue.
TEST: If the door closes completely by pressing and holding down the wall pad button, you have a sensor problem.

Check to make sure the are aimed properly at each other.
Check the wire at the sensor and more importantly at the machine (If the wires are loose at the machine (terminals) it can cause this problem. Remember the machine does shake a lot.
If the wires are good, the sensors are aimed correctly, you have a sensor issue and need to loacte a replacement set.

Have dish net work

That pixelation is caused by weak transponders or bad weather.
Wait for a nice clear day and see if you continue to have the problem.
If you do, you need to call your service provider. (assuming this is a legit Dishnet Satellite)

Chamberlain Garage Door Opener will not close door

The problem is with the safety eyes. Make sure that both eyes are lit. If not, align them making sure that they are pointing directly at each other. Also, if you adjusted the force setting make sure that it is not turned up past 5 or it can be dangerous.

Door ups and downs

Holding the button down just bypasses the sensors.
Your sensors are not adjusting correctly, or there is a short in the wires.
The back of the machine has a little yellow light, count the flashes and corelate it to the troubleshooting portion of the manual to confirm.

The orange light is a constant, the green sensor needs to be adjusted until you get a solid green light.

Garage sensor problem

The colour on the sensors doesn't change.
One is orange constantly and the other is green when detecting a signal from the orange sensor.
If the green is flickering, they are not adjusted correctly.Move the green sensor until you get a good solid green. Holding the wall pad button down, just bypasses the sensors.

Try adjusting only the sensors so that they are solid.

In addition, check the little yellow light on the back of the machine and count the flashes.
The number of flashes will tell you what the error is in your manual.

Light on, nobody home ??!!

The light flashing on the back of the operator 5 times indicates that there is an RPM sensor failure. They can be changed easy enough, but remember to unplug the operator first. The part # is 41C4398A. Your best bet would be to call a garage door company and get them to look at it. Your logic board may also be fried from the storm. Hope this helps.
