NEED CD INSTALLATION

You don't need an installation CD to setup the wireless but you do need the ADSL settings from your Internet provider to configure the ADSL modem. Connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open the browser on your laptop/computer and enter the D-Link's configuration URL.. http://192.168.0.1 The default login = admin The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password. You can now configure the wireless settings. (WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access). Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. Wifi password reset

Once you log into your router click on the wireless link. On the bottom of the wireless page click security.Here you can change your wifi security.Once done just click apply and the that's it. How to change password

you have to connect your computer to it using an ethernet cable, then in a web browser type in '192.168.1.1'then it'll prompt for a username which is Adminthen a password which is also 'Admin'then you can change your wireless password in the settings there.download the manual : http://laureldsl.net/pdf/D-Link%202640B%20UserManual.pdfand have a read..page 13 will be of interest..also page 54, where it mentions resetting to factory configuration-look at page 6 at the reset button.

WLAN not working

you will have to open up your network connections click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark ! ? you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled If you are trying to connect through a modem/router you it should have come with a disk then you might have to connect the usb lead to your modem to get a connection then click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to network adapters should see a yellow question / exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click install drivers the driver might be on the disc supplied by your ISP internet service provider or the motherboard disc

click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode

type in ipconfig press enter

you will see all o fyour internet connection details type in your default gateway adress into your internet search should read something like 10.0.0.138

Make sure you Ethernet/internet is enabled in bios restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on your screen a certain key to

press to enter set up (BIOS) press and hold that key to enter bios using arrow keys navigate to integrated peripherals look for SiS On Chip Pci Device press enter scroll to SiS 10/100m press enter make sure its enabledimake sure its enabledPci device arrows key scroll to nstalled. hope this helps

already have a driver attach in modem.is no updated driver because hardware dependent. so sent service center updated your modem hardware then update driver from service center it only for u worked ( it's not joke). or" buy updated modem.

Router supplied by AOL -

Your router has small NAT table and it's easy to overflow, especially if P2P like torrent used. The only solution to prevent router to drop out connections is reset it periodically or install Router Comamander software (freeware version available). Router Commander prevents router from dropping connections using dynamic NAT table size control.

To figure out what problem is, download and install Router Commander Freeware software. Using this program you can view system log messages from router and when problem happens, this log is very helpful.

Since you have anew router.Just Hard reset your router & power cycle.Steps:1) There will be small button at the back of the router. Press it with a pen for 10 seconds. 2) Take the power cable out , wait for 10seconds & plug it again.Now try doing the configuration of your router again. It should allow you to enter with default username/password anywhere.

For got my password

Take a pen and press the reset button on the back of the router. This should take the router back to default settings and you will have to re-set it up. Wait for the router to re-boot after resetting.
