I have a D-Link DSBroadBand
I suspect that your ethernet adapter has been made 'not enabled', but can't explain how to check it since I don't know which version of windows you're running. If you can get to the Device Driver panel, you can change it there...
Help setting up wireless to adsl
you should access your Router.
To access it go to
Run > CMD
type "ipconfig" there
Search for the connection that you are using and get the Default Gateway.
It should be 192.168.0.1
Open a web browser and type 192.168.0.1 , press enter.
If it requires a username and password type admin / admin , or admin and leave password blank.
Then go to the wireless settings and configure them.
You can do all of this with your PC and router connected by a LAN cable.
Cannot access my e-mail or send
If you can connect to the Internet then the problem is most likely the configuration of your email client. You want to make sure you have the correct settings for your incoming and outgoing mail servers in your mail client. The Standard port used by POP3 is 110 for incoming mail, Outgoing SMTP server uses Port 25. Make sure your router doesn't have these ports blocked

D-link DSL 2730u modem dead after wrong firmware update through wireless
Attempt to do the firmware update, again--connecting always to ethernet for firmware updates. Unfortunately, your modem may be "bricked" (unusable)--in other words, it may be time to recycle it and buy a new one.
The firmware may proved damaged--given that the incorrect firmware successfully installed (hopefully, that was prevented by the device itself--it may have output an error message or code)--or, it was installed incompletely, or the update proved corrupted.
