2wire 2701HG-B got red light on power & green light on wireless

Issue that you have mentioned its very common among 2Wire modems. Most of the cases we have diagnosed Modem usually OK but the AC Adapter, AC adapter somehow comes from 3rd party with low quality production. Due to its circuit design internal heat dries up the DC output capacitors. So DC output comes up with ripple and it cause modem to not work properly. You may change the AC adapter or you can change its Capacitors. Same rate AC adapters will work fine. Just make sure polarization is right.
If Issue continues you may post for further diagnosis

Good Luck

I have recently configured a 2wire 2701HG-B router

I use ATT as well, but I am running ubuntu. for some reason in order to connect to the internet I have to restart networking after boot. I just use networking helper scripts, otherwise, for some reason it does not key-in WPA through the manual config properly.

Could not find an ATM circuit

turn the router and the PC off, turn the router on 1st, wait for all the lites to turn on...if you have DSL wait for the DSL lite to be on .....no blinking. then turn PC on.. IF problem still there then its either the router or the NIC that needs replacement.

Not getting any signal to

You don't use the same cable now? How are you connected to the modem now? Have you tried: Start/run/ write: CMD
and in the black window that appear write: ipconfig
to see that you have an IP adress?

If you have got an IP adress you can try to type: ping www.google.com
to see that the packages are coming trough the modem out on the internet.

If you got no IP you have no connection to the router/modem.. if you have got a IP but you dont get any ping back, it may be a firewall or something like that.

Where is the wifi password for my 2wire wireless

the default wireless passowrd or network key is located at the bottom left of the 2wire router. You will find a sticker that indicates the Serial Number, System Password and Wireless Network Key. The Wireless Network Password is is the 10 Digit Code located under the S/N.

If in any case you want to personalize the Wireless Network Key. You can access the gateway by opening a browser the type 192.168.1.254 it will ask you for a password use the System Password on the sticker. Click on Home Network then Click on Wireless Settings. You can also change the Network Name or SSID, The Authentication and the Wireless Network Key

Cant figure out how to connect to xbox live?

there is a way to reset the modem but you will lose your configuration and you would have to start all over again.
on the back of the modem where you connect the cables there is a tiny hole it may say reset. with the modem on, go ahead and stick a pen, toothpick or something of that nature in to the reset hole and hold it for about 10 seconds, you would see the lights go out and come back on. at that moment go ahead and release the tiny button and wait for modem to come back on. At this point you can go ahead and reconfigure it, you have to enable the wireless feature, enable you password (both set up and configuration), rename your network, etc. DO NOT keep the default settings and try to use WPA instead of WEP is harder to crack. for you to do all of this you have to connect your computer to the modem with a cable and type the address to access it or open ie and type homeportal in the address bar. it should take you to the configuration page (if it is a 2wire modem).

if it works for you, don't forget to rateme

thx

Goes off 2,3 times by hour for few second

If you mean the power goes off, you should get your equipment replaced.
If you mean your wireless connectivity goes off, I would check for interference from wireless networks on the same channel in your neighborhood, using whatever "stumbler" tool is available for your OS.
If you mean your wired connectivity goes off, it points to either a router equipment problem or an ISP availability problem.

Port forwarding

This isn't a very detailed question, so I have to give you a very general answer.
Port Forwarding is configured in the "Firewall" tab of your router's configuration screens. This set of screens is described in the manual beginning on page 35. You can find the manual here:
