Wifi does not connect to
The easiest way to access the
HomePortal is to use another computer connected to your home network. If
the DMZPlus computer is the only available computer, you can manually
configure the TCP/IP settings on that computer. Modifying the following
settings allows you to access the HomePortal user interface.
-
IP address 172.16.1.2 (valid IPs are 172.16.1.2 - 172.16.1.32)
-
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
-
Gateway Address: 172.16.0.1
-
DNS Server Address: 172.16.0.1

Hi John.
There must be a reset button somewhere in the router. It could be on the back. It is tiny hole that only a tip of a paper clip or pin can fit. Press it for about 2-3 seconds and it will restore it it's default settings. If it asks for a password once the reset is done, usually the default password is "password" (without the quotation marks) or you may refer to your manual to check the default password.
All the best! If you need further help, reach me via phone at

How to find the 2wire
If it's the "default" key then it's the 10 digits on the 2wire router itself, check out the router usually it's on the bottom written like [1234567890]
Let me know if that works.
The 2701hg-b is not sensing that I have connected
1. the command you are using is incorrect it is : ipconfig /release >>> then ipconfig /renew
at the DOS prompt.
2. to get to the DOS prompt you will need to type "cmd" in the search field the hit enter
this will bring you to the DOS screen.
3. unplug the Ethernet cord for 30 seconds then reconnect it
4. go into the router via a browser window / in the address locator enter 192.168.0.1 this
should bring you to the routers GUI ( graphical user interface) then from there go to the
router status page and use the "helps" to lease/ renew the IP address assigned by the
router.
I don't find the IP
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router.
If you are still not able to access it with above ip then press RESET button for 10 seconds then all settings defaults.
Then you can access it with above default ip.
Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
I cannot stay connected to
You might want to try disconnecting everything EXCEPT the power cord. If you still get the red power light (it should stay there forever) then bring the gateway to Radio Shack or somewhere they have a 5 volt DC @ 2 amp power supply and plug it in for 5 to 10 minutes and see if the power light then stays green. If it stays green then all you need is a new power supply! If not, then the gateway is fried. Mine keeps going from a solid green power light to a flashing green power light and I can hear a relay click every 2 minutes at which time a pop-up say "ethernet line disconnected". I tried new power supply etc. to no avail! It is fried after 1.5 years! No more 2wire for me!
