I asked for help with an Amana F9 code problem earlier today .I had set self clean oven on and then after 2 hours cancelled it. After 1/2 hr it began to beep and displaideda F9 code and I couldn't get it to unlock. Tried manual tip to turn off circuit breaker for 3 minuetes then turn back on. Did this 3 times to no avail.Tried 20 minutes also zip.Contacted Amana and all they would tell was to call a service rep. I gave her apiece of my mind that I wouln't do that because I wasn't going be paying for such an issue.

Pull the temperature probe on the unit and check the Ohms on it with a multi-meter. It should read 1100 Ohms. If you get a different reading, replace the probe with this part.Keep me posted.

Sounds like a bad safety valve Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter.Post back your results.

The oven and burners have separate igniters. There may be a battery that needs to be replaced for the burner's igniter module.

unplug or flip breaker for a couple of minutes. that should do it.

Is the broiler glowbar pulling between 3.2 and 3.6 amps?
If not it is weak and not opening the safety valve.
