Maxtor Shared Storage II (S01R320) Hard Drive Questions & Answers
Hi. I configured my Maxtor Shared Storage II with
try and assign the drive a drive letter by right clicking on my computer and choose manage.
go to disk management
look for the maxtor hard drive.
if you see it listed there below you should be able to right click on it and assign a drive letter.
if you dont see it then it doesn't detect the hard drive. please check your hard drive connections and try again.

My computer went bad and I cannot get the data off
Hello Sir, hi, to access the hard drive data, you need to get the Hard drive out of your computer and place it on another computer.
to remove the drive.
1. power off the pc.
2. open the side panels to access the inside.
3. locate the Hard drive. the rectangular metal unit in front. not the CD drive okay.
4. remove the 2 cables connected to the drive. power and sata/ribbon cable.
5. loosen the screws.
6. Gently pull out the drive.
Ask a friend with a computer to help you out to get the data.
or visit a computer shop to have your data back up tp a CD bring you drive along.

Hello sir, hi try installing your hard drive to another pc with XP vista or 7 the ntfs drive will be read.
All three lights are flashing
No experience with this model but if you open the enclosure there is a regular hard drive inside. You may be able to fit it inside a pc, or use a hard drive caddy to get at your stuff

may have bad cable try replacing them first or hook it up to anthor cp and run dfrag and anitvirus before proncing it dead

You should try a data recovery software that can read the disk before the system boots. That is your best chance to recover the data. I recommend data rescue PC.You can download the free trial to see if it can read the data. Burn the bootable ISO to a CD and boot from it. Scan the partition in question and see if it can find your client's data. If it can then you will have to purchase the software to be able to recover the data.
