One "beep" is NORMAL.
More than one beep, especially in a pattern (short, short, long)

Perhaps one of your ram chips is bad, or the new ram is not compatible with the old. I would swap out one stick at a time to find the bad one. Another possibility is you need to go into BIOS and accept the ram change. I hope this helps.
MSI K9A2 CF motherboard powers up, but nothing happens
try to get into the bios and see if the function of the power switch assigned differently. there are MB that use the a hotkey in the keyboard to power-up the system. It should be there in bios. Read the MB's manual too. On OFF state, try typing "O" and "N" then hit enter

GRAM Issue
agp 2x is 32 bit at 66 mhz, the 2x standard is quite old now not sure if they are still avalible or not the carda are backward compatible but as far as i know they are not forward compatible, backward means the 8x slot will accept the older card. forward compatible is the ability to put the 8x card in the 2x slot. you could do a search for a 2x agp card. the voltage is different on the cards and the slots are different, even if it would plug in the voltage wouldn't be correct. you might want to try a std pci video card if you have an extra pci slot.be sure std pci and not pci express they are different.
