As long as you don't have anything else in the PCIe x16 slot then yeah it will work fine. Make sure you have a min of 300W power supply.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers if you dont have a disk with the drivers you will have to download them

if your computer is asking for the driver when you are trying to install windows7 the motherboard might be to old

if your computer is 5 yrs or older it might not support windows 7 also you will need a minimum of 2GB of RAM to install windows 7 hope this helps you
