Hard Disk Drive Recovery using the recovery partition
You have the options of recovering your system using the Hard
Drive Recovery partition to the factory-set default, or recovering
just your C: drive and leaving other partitions (for example, a D:
drive) intact, or changing the size of your C: drive and then
recovering it.
To recover your hard disk drive using the utilities stored on your
computer's HDD:
1 Make sure the computer is turned off.
2 Press and hold the 0 (zero) key on your keyboard while
powering on the computer. When the computer powers on, the
Toshiba Recovery Wizard screen displays.
3 Select one of the options, and then click Next. The options are:
? Recovery of Factory Default Software
? Erase the hard disk
1 On the Toshiba Recovery Wizard screen, select Recovery of
Factory Default Software, and then click Next.
The Recovery of Factory Default Software screen appears.

2 Select Recover to out-of-box-state, and then click Next.
A confirmation message displays reminding you that all data
will be lost during the recovery process. Be sure to save your
work to external media before proceeding.
3 Click Next to begin the recovery.
Once complete, a message displays that the HDD has been
recovered.
4 Press any key on the keyboard to restart the computer.
To recover only your C: drive:
1 On the Toshiba Recovery Wizard Screen, select Recovery of
Factory Default Software, and then click Next.
2 Select Recover without changing the hard drive partitions.
A confirmation message appears, reminding you that all
information on the C: drive will be lost during the recovery
process. Be sure you have saved your work to external media
before proceeding.
3 Click Next to begin the restoration.
Once complete, a message displays that the HDD has been
recovered.
4 Press any key on your keyboard to restart the computer.

Need to restore to factory
Hi charles1700m,
There are 2 options if you want to Restore the laptop to its factory settings. You can either use the
Recovery Disk if you have one or use the
Hard Disk Recover. I've posted here the guide on how to do a Hard Disk Recovery. Just follow the instructions on the manual.
Manual 1 and
Manual 2
Rate me if this helps so that I can help others. Thanks for using Fixya.

When trying to boot into windows it sys windows
sounds like windows is corrupt. in a worst case scenario, you might need to reload the OS. can you boot into safe mode by pressing f5 during the startup? if it does the same thing in safe mode, you'll need to find your system restore disks and boot to them and then you can try to do a repair install of the OS. if it doesn't work, i would recommend a clean install.

Installing windows XP - Error encountered
Can you reboot and get into windows or is now corrupt?
What do you mean by 'uninstalled XP'??
You cant uninstall it unless you format the drive, in which case the recovery discs are now probably useless as they rely on a folder on the HDD called i386.
Recovery discs normally dont have the OS on them, they rely on the I386 folder to gather info about the computer and then restores it to the state when it was new.
If you can acess the system, reboot and go into the bios and change the boot sequence to CD, then insert the first recovery disc. then save the settings and the computer will reboot and start the recovery process again, this should clear up the error.
If it does not it will be because the i386 folder is missing in which case you can either explore the recovery discs for it or you will have to buy a copy of Windows XP.

no there is not a order for that but you can try one by one like that you'll see if that is detected or not so if any one is not detected or does what it was on the first time may be there is a bad one so try it

Toshiba a105-s4054
Try pressing the following 2 keys simultaneously- Fn & F5. Do this only once. If this doesn't fix the problem, be sure to hit both of them simultaneously 1 more time to set the machine back in it's original state. What you are doing is switching between the internal monitor and an external monitor, should you ever have a reason to attach one.

Toshiba washing machine model AW-DK1700WMM has turn on, beeps with error code EL then shut down within 5 seconds, how can I slove this problem?
To fix the EL error code:
* Make sure the door is completely closed and latched securely. A loose or broken latch can cause the error.
*Examine the door lock for any damage, dirt, or debris that could prevent it from working properly. Clean the area thoroughly.
* Turn off the washing machine, then unplug it for a few minutes. Plug it back in and restart it. This may resolve communication issues that trigger the error.
* Examine the wiring connections between the door lock system and the control panel. Faulty connections, such as loose or damaged wires, can disrupt communication and lead to the error message.
