My Battery is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Discharging the battery will not harm the battery. Lenovo purposely has an annoyingly slow recharge rate because a quick recharge will shorten the life of the battery. It is not a problem if you have the patience to allow a long recharge. Otherwise spring for a second battery for quick replacement when AC power is not accessible.
BIOS PASSWORD
Resetting the BIOS password is no easy feat. I'm not very experienced with doing this, but this article I found might be able to get you on the right track: http://www.ja.axxs.net/unlock/
Critical hard drive message followed immediately
If this message persists at each shutdown I suggest that you back up your data and get a new hard drive. Hard drives fail slowly, so you may still be able to squeeze out some life from the drive, but the bottom line is that you're playing russian roulette. It can go off when you least want it to.
After you get your critical data off the drive onto an external drive or burn them on a DVD, you can do a disk scan (Go to Windows Explorer, Right-click the hard drive, choose Tools and run the Scan Disk utility and have it check for errors. Or, you can also go to Start-Run, and type CMD and hit Enter in the small dialogue box. Then, in the new window type CHKDSK /f and hit Enter. This will scan and fix any errors it finds on the hard disk.
After you finish scanning you may want to check the mechanical parameters of the hard drive using a SMART Disk scanning utility eg. http://www.ariolic.com/download/activesmart.exe which is my favorite, but I have the full version, not the trial, but even this trial will do the job of notifying you if your hard drive has a mechanical problem or not.
If the ChkDsk utility finds problems and solves them, while the SMART scanner does not find any problems with your drive, then probably your hard drive only suffered from software-induced issues, and in this case you can relax and continue using the old hard drive, with regular monthly "CHKDSK /f" scans just to be on the safe side.
Can you tell me how
FOR IBM/LENOVO PASSWORD
Hello sir read these instruction. Solution for all IBM/Lenovo laptop
check this site... http://ja.axxs.net. you need to buy this device Key maker pro...

The power light is off The charger is OK with
remove the battery, connect the ac adapter and turn on the laptop. If it turns on then it's your battery. If it doesn't turn on then it is either your ac adapter, your dc jack, or your system board.
If it doesn't turn on then try a different ac adapter from your local pc shop or electronics store. If it still doesn't work then try moving the ac adapter connector and see if it attempts to turn on. If it does then it's your dc jack. If it is your dc jack then you will have to replace it. The problem with that is that it can be pretty expensive to replace it.
The way I have solved this is by ordering a dc jack on ebay or any other online parts supplier and replacing it myself. If you can take your computer apart and put it back together then it's just a matter of desoldering and soldering the new one. If you want you can have a pc or tv shop do the soldering for you.
Have fun and let me know if you have anymore questions.

I have a Lenovo x60
sounds like a loose lcd connector, or pinched cable.
the lcd connector is under the keyboard. remove the panel that has the power button on it, it should just pop off from one side to the other. the remove the 2 to 3 screws located at topof keyboard, plus remove 2 to 3 screws under laptop located in holesmarked with a big K maybe even circled. with keyboard out of way you will see the lcd cable connector, it should have a "paperclip" handle, pull it up then reseat the connector, reassemble and test.
Ibm thinkpad tablet won't boot,
Hi,
During the boot at the THINKPAD SCREEN press the Thinkvantage key ( Blue button ) it will launch rescue and recovery and allow you to reboot factory. This only works if you did not corrupted/deleted the rescue and recovery hidden partition on the HDD.
Otherwise you will need the rescue and recovery CD to proceed. IBM/Lenovo support should be able to provide you the CD.
thanks and have a nice day

IBM X60 laptop won't start
It really does sound like a hardware problem, perhaps a motherboard/processor/memory issue. If there is no beeping but just humming that is just the fan and drives kicking up.
I would recommend you take it into a repair shop and have them diagnose the issue.
Hi, the backlight on my screen no longer turns on
The backlight is normall part of the LCD panel assembly and is not normally changeable on its own (sadly) however here is a link to one being solf on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LCD-CCFL-Backlight-Lamp-for-IBM-lenovo-ThinkPad-X60-X61_W0QQitemZ250464679317QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090715?IMSfp=TL090715205001r13604
and here is a link to the X61 LCD dissassembly http://www.insidemylaptop.com/replace-broken-lcd-screen-lenovo-x60s-laptop/
After removing the LCD you will gently have to prise it apart to reveal the backlight assy. Hope this goes will for you.
Won't work on battery even though it is 98% full
sounds like the problem could be the battery itself...since you already confirmed that it works with the power adapter....if your under warranty it would be a good time to call the warranty department
