No! But it will need to be repaired. Did you wrap the potatoes in tin foil? The reason for the smoke needs to be found and repaired. Smoking means a short or a part shorted, failed, or wires touching another wire that did not blow any fuss.That is not good.
Trained technicians can help the mfg improve their products if they find the problem and report it to the Mfg.

you have a bad door switch call a tech these things can kill you even if they are unplugged.

I'm not positive on old Amanas, but some very old units slid out of the main case. The main case was installed and the cooking unit slid inside the case. There were two screws in front that released a connecting device at the rear. Check at the front top corners for a screw that may disconnect this. I have also seen extra screws added through the cabinet to the side, that shouldn't have been put there, that are screwed through the side of the main case. Check for another fuse. Check all electrical connections for burns. Did you check fuse with a meter or just look at it? Don't trust what it looks like.
