Asus MB169B+ repair
John, most monitors made have no service guide.
all are different, every brand and every model
some of this thin devices, like this are snap apart
and some are glued (using glue not unlike "stickynotes"
they do that also to make it water proof (limited) so that makes it super hard to repair, just like many notepads,
or both. they are all very tricky to work on, (that is the price for thin)
the users manual at asus has no facts here.
nor do they list a service manual on it. (sad)
google for it or youtube it is the only way.
ill looked on youtube, see nada
buy dead one on ebay, learn to take the dead one apart first
then work on yours.
other than that, call ASUS, ask for service manual
or google all week,

Asus x205t won't power on.
I just had a similar problem with the same Asus model. It drained the battery yesterday and today wouldn't start even after charging for 15min (the middle light was on so it was charging). The light bulb light was on though even when it wasn't charging. Tried pressing the button several times. Didn't help. Tried holding it for several seconds. Didn't help. But when I hold the button for around 30sec the light bulb turned off. And then another press and it turned on as normal. So the laptop must have been hibernated/sleeping. But it did give me a heart attack, especially when I realised that I will have to take it to Currys for repair where their very unknowledgable KnowHow don't know how to fix anything (send a laptop three times and still didn't fix the problem, they only know how to install software updates).
My asus x50gl will not play cds or dvds
Try reseatting the DVD/CD drive also reinstall the DVD/CD driver. If this does not fix the problem then most likely the DVD/CD drive is faulty and then needs to be replaced.
Asus P5KPL SE & Sata, Bios "Not Detected Problem"..
The Asus bios won't show SATA devices.
However if you are using Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (or newer operating system then the devices should be detected. If this is not happening then enter the bios -- Storage Configuration -- Configuration Enhanced and set the IDE devices to compatible. This allows all drives to be "seen" and you should then be able to load an OS.
Why cant my ibuypower pc dvi port show the signal on my asus monitor?
There are several possible reasons for the DVI port not to provide a signal to the monitor. First, is this a desktop or laptop?
For a desktop, do you have a video graphics card installed? If so, make sure that the DVI port to which you connected the cable is on the VGA card. Video ports on the motherboard will be disabled when the VGA card is active. Next check if the monitor is set to the correct source. Then turn off the computer and monitor. Turn on the monitor first and then the computer. This is the best way for the computer to find a new monitor. If this still fails, try a different DVI cable. If you are using an adapter, check that you have it in the direction. Not all adapters support two-way video signals. (This applies to most Display Port to DVI cables. It may happen with some HDMI to DVI cables.) If you are adding a second monitor, check the Display settings. (For most versions of Windows, right click on the desktop (no icons/programs) and look for a Display Settings button. For Windows 10, Start button > Settings > System > Display.) Use the Detect button to see if the computer has recognized the monitor. Then set up how you want the output to go to that monitor (duplicate screen or independent). If you have more than two monitors, check your hardware. Many computers will not support 3+ monitors unless Active Display Port adapters are used for the third and subsequent monitors.
For a laptop, you may need to enable the external video adapter. Often this is disabled to save power. Enabling the adapter usually requires accessing the BIOS and that depends on the motherboard. You might need to press F1, Del or F2 repeatedly after turning on the computer. (There will be a splash screen that shows the appropriate key.) With Windows 10, the fast boot may make this impossible to see. From Windows, press Start and then power. Right-click on Restart to see the Advanced Restart menu and access your BIOS information. If the port is active, then see the above section on the Display Settings to have Windows send data to the monitor.
I hope this helps.
