Disney DDA8040 MP3 Player Questions & Answers
My mp3 player is not
Your English is OK Jessyka and at least as good as some UK natives.
If you successfully use your usb port for something else and become convinced the port and the connecting wire is working ok then the problem must be with your Mp3 player.
If your Mp3 player is charged and switched on, when it is connected to the usb it should appear in the My Computer section.
If the Mp3 player appears in My Computer you should be able to open the contents and add or remove music files and you should be able to right-click and view the properties.
If it does not appear in My Computer I suggest you try it with another computer and if there is no success you should assume it is faulty and requires repair.
The device might not be electrically faulty but might have been rendered useless by an internal software problem.
A few people have thought removing a lot of files from their Mp3 player was too much work and decided to empty the device by using the right-click formatting option - which is too successful and renders the device useless as it also removes the operating software from the device.

Open your My Computer icon and plug the player into your computer. You
should see a new removable disk appear. Right click on
the disck and choose Format from the pop up menu. At the Format window
make sure that the File System is set to FAT32 and click Start. At the
next window click OK to proceed. You'll then need to add the songs back
to your player but it should correct the problem.
