My HP deskjet D4260 is offline. I have tried

Once you have added either a USB or networked printer to your PC or Mac computer, you can begin sending documents to print. However, on occasion, a print command will create an error on the printer and take it offline, which will prevent all future jobs from printing. To resolve this issue, you will need to change your printer settings from offline to online.
PC Instructions - Open the Start menu and click on the "Printers and Faxes" icon. This will open a window with a list of the printers currently set up on your computer. - Double-click on the icon of the printer you want to change to online. A pop-up window detailing all current print jobs will open. - Go to Printer in the menu bar of the pop-up window and uncheck "Use Printer Offline." This action will change the printer from offline to online.
Mac Instructions - Open System Preferences by clicking on the icon in the Dock. - Go to the Print & Fax control panel under the Hardware category. - Select the printer you want to take online from the list on the left side of the screen. Then click on the "Open Print Queue" button. - Click on the "Resume Printer" button at the top of the queue window to change the printer from offline to online.

Just installed refilled black ink cartridge on hp

By using refilled cartridges you will always have this problem. Each cartridge has a chip that lets the printer know when it is full or empty. By pressing the ok button you may be able to clear this message. However, most of the time you can still be able to print and ignore the message.

Hi,Disconnect the USB Cable from Printer to PC and reconnect and try to print. If this does not fix, try the steps belowGo to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.(If you are using Windows Vista/Win 7, You need to click on START button and under search program and files - Enter the Services.msc and click the same program from Program list that appear )In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the rightRight-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately. The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: AutomaticRegards,Sean

Cannot fit the 75 and 74 ink cartridges in my 4260

Make sure you insert 75 (color) on the LEFT and 74 (black) on the RIGHT. A tab in the top of each cartridge holder blocks you from inserting the incorrect cartridge.(How Do I Know: had a hell of a time inserting the print cartridges myself, and when i finally shoved the 74 (black) in on the left, i discovered the tabs; had a hell of a time trying to pull it out after that. inserting the cartridges in the correct port, however, was a breeze.)
