Yes, your TV is cable ready. To set up, you will need to use the original remote and complete the following steps.

1. Connect your cable box to your TV using either antenna (RF) cable or component A/V
2. Press the "MENU" button on your remote
3. Select "CHANNELS" using the up/down arrow buttons on your remote and press "OK"
4. Select "SCAN CHANNEL" and press"OK".
5. Select "CABLE" as the source and press "OK" to tune

The TV should now automatically tune the cable stations and exit the menu. If you need to exit the menu and/or start again just press "MENU" on the remote again.

If you have no picture, press the "INPUT" button on your remote repeatedly until the input is on "TUNER" if you are using an RF cable or "COMPONENT" if you are using component A/V cable.

Your TV should now be setup for watching cable.

I have the same problem. I took off the back panel and the power circuit board was fired. You can see burnt brown marks on the components and the circuit board. I did a google search and I can get a new power circuit board for around $55. Very easy to install.

kind of sounds like a panel problem, t-con brd which is usually only available with the panel anyways. panel is pretty typically more expensive than the tv is worth(if its even available). you might be able to search around and find a service center that has a free estimate take a look at it. other possibility is the main brd

That means there are no more updates for that TV. You might want to get a newer TV.

Go to home setting on remote. Go to audio settings on tv. Adjust sound from there down to suitable level.
