Vizio GV47LF Television - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I have a hum in
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what
you have described it seems that you
might have a backlight issue with this TV set. It could also be due to the
inverter circuits for the backlights. The inverter is the power
supply source for the backlights. There could also be a screen driver
problem; if it is then you have to change the entire board. All this is only
recommended if you have some kind of expertise for checking the internal
circuitry of the TV as these units have high voltages running even when the set
is switched off. Please do accept the solution if the issue is
resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee
This morning, I turned on the TV and the picture
Hello Mike. Your set is suffering from one of the following: bad high volatge transformer, bad fuse, or a bad starter box. If you are electronically minded and equipped with test equipment you can isolate and check each of these components, otherwise a call to a repair shop for an estimate is the next step. Regards, Joe

Vizio GV47L - screen went blank after fizzle pop sound
Have you talked to Costco? I have the exact same TV with the exact same problem which I purchased in January 2007. I called Costco who contacted a local repair service. After a home visit to diagnose the problem, then a 5 day wait for parts, my TV was working again 1 week after contacting Costco. I did have the original receipt.
I had a diagnostic done on my tv and they said
Yes,What ur prob.most common no power,no,light,standby light flashes,no video,video with color bleed in.Trires websites for boards for ur prob.Are Shopjimmy.com,Partstore.com or Ebay.com

My Vizio GV42L HDTV had a similar issue. I had to replace the POWER BOARD ASSEMBLY, $109.71 (part# 0500-0507-0201).
No picture have sound will power on/off
Hi! the trouble you have mentioned indicates that your lcd back light is not functioning. i think the inverter circuit is in trouble or malfunctioning. usually you could re solder it or replace it with a new. the inverter circuit is the one responsible in turning your back light on.

Our Vizio GV47L would not power up (the "Vizio" emblem on the front of the set was black also). I got scared reading the one solution here which talked about a soldered fuse, so I called in the repair folks (they offered a free estimate on site). Initially, the repairman said he would have to take the set off-site, and we were looking at hundreds of dollars for the estimate and resolution. I pushed the fuse issue. He agreed to open the set for free, but if it was a fuse the charge would be $75. I agreed. He layed the set screen down on a padded table (you will need to do this to unscrew the speakers). There are lots of screws, and typically the ones in the middle of a line of screws are different sizes. Sure enough, when he opened the panel I could see that there was only one regular fuse on the whole tv. It is on the Power Board circuit panel. If you are looking forward from the back of the unit it is near the top left position. The fuse is not soldered. He popped it out and sure enough it was blown. He installed a new fuse and the tv works just fine again. It was a cheap fix at $75, but I'm reasonably handy and could have repaced the fuse myself for a couple of bucks. Oh well, live and learn. I hope this helps somebody!
Same thing
most of the modern tv sets come with a special type of fuse called polyfuse. if you cant find the normal fuse near the power section then it is clear that your tv is equiped with polyfuse. Poly fuse are special type of electronic fuse that will automatically reset after the failure.
if itis clear that your tv is equiped with polyfuse dont blame the fuse.
I came home and turn

Picture not as bright, it real rich and dark?
Please check the flyback transformer and turn a little bit clockwise the screen knobs this will help to increase a little bit brightness. Do not touch the wires because of high voltage, This is due to old CRT or FBT need replacement.
Thanks.
Kevin.
My tv is damaged and i want o fix it
Cannot fix it yourself, the very sensitive connection area on top of the screen is damaged. Unfortunately this requires a whole new panel, it will be cheaper to get a new tv.
Vizio BV47L FHDTV10A has a blown power supply
It is very easy to replace the power supply.
- Remove the stand
- Remove the speaker
- Remove the back cover.
- Remove 4 wires connector on the psu.
- Remove the 6 screws on the power supply and replace it with a new one.
Hope it will help.
