Can be repaired probalby. I had same problem. There are three fuses any one of which can cause similar issues. by testing them you can detremine which one is bad and jumper it or have a repair person do it.
I did it on mine for aobut $12.

Search by model number and blown fuse to find others who describe how to do it.

Search on blown fuses for gv47l. There are three fuses that you can check (open the back of the TV) and if one is mad you can jumper it with another fuse. I did this nad it fixed my gv47l

Try these from onkyo:

if you are still under warranty you can get it repaired for free, else your only choice is to take to a repair center, replacement maybe cost you a lot :(

That is caused by an expander problem within the display driver blocks situated all around the screens perimeter.I have the eqipment to replace the faulty ic but it is a workshop job and most service centres cannot remove and replace the ic succesfully as it is an extremely specialized job.
Most, unless it is under warranty, will try and sell you a new TV.

It can be power supply failure due to bad caps, or it detects shorted circuits in the set so it goes into shutdown mode.
Look at the power supply first for any bad caps, burnt components, etc.

The power supply.

no picture power supply appears to be fine removed Master inverter board looks good,removed slave a 3.5 volt 680 uf cap bulging and leaking could this be my no picture problem in my gv47 10a?

ANy sign of DC filter caps with open top (may be that was the sound you hear was cap is blowing its tops). You need to do some voltage checking and some visual inspection.

You have to remove the heatsink to see the caps under it.

Yes,this could be ur problems.But u have sound right?Not u might have more problems,that a start.

Check the power supply output voltages first.

hello, sounds like a capacitor blew inside possibly your power supply was fualty or the capacitor that blew overheated and cuase the sound its typical noice a capaciotr makes when it blows.. hope this helps

You may want to try another channel auto scan after it starts working. The most likely cause is the main signal board or a slow pwer supply line to it

The Vizio GV47LF HDTV's connection bay has everything we'd expect. It includes a pair of HDMI inputs which can take 1080p sources (at 60 but not 24Hz), two component-video inputs, one A/V input with composite video and one with composite and S-Video, one RF input for cable for antenna connections, an optical digital audio output, and a VGA-style PC input for PC connections.
If you're connecting a computer, you'll probably be disappointed that the VGA input maxes out at 1,360x768 resolution (which did look pretty good) instead of the full 1,920x1,080. We did connect a PC via HDMI and got 1,920x1,080 resolution, but the image didn't look as sharp as the 1,360x768 version. Again, we believe this has to do with the lack of a dot-by-dot mode, although perhaps people playing with picture settings, either in the Vizio or in the video card's drivers, can achieve a better-looking higher-resolution computer image. All-in-all, shoppers looking for a big computer monitor would be better served by the Westinghouse LVM-47w1.

Hi,

As there is a Pop Noise, more likely it is Power Supply Board. You need to Open the TV. Make sure it would be Unplugged. You need to Take all the Precautions. Locate the Power Supply Board. Remove the Connectors and Pull out the Board. Once you Pull out the Board, with the Help of Magnifying Glass, locate Cold Solder Joint. If Everything is OK, then you would Locate Bulged / Leaked / Swelled Caps. They would have Ammonia kind of Odor. You need to De-Solder them. You could take the same to Radio Shack / Fry's / Order Online. Once you get the New Caps, Solder them and it is all set.You also need to Check Fuses around that.

Getting a Service Manual for this Model could be tough, but i would be able to ask few vendors, in case problem would not be resolved. Usually, you could easy repair the Power Supply Board, if you could catch Few Bad Caps ( which i assume as you heard a Pop Sound ).

You may have already figured out the answer since its been two months after you asked the question. These are the universal codes for Vizio TVs... you have to try all of them and find out which one works.
