as far as i know you can go to the source of the tv and then choose the dvd source and operate from there. hope this helps.

1x per second (constant, steady blink) = bad inverter/lamps
2x per second = bad power supply
3x per second = bad main board

no. that is not true. the person you spoke to obviously didn't know what they were talking about. you mean to tell me that everyone that has a cable or satellite box with a stereo or hd tv is not going to receive stereo sound? really,think about it. you only need a cable box( for now ) if you have premium channels (hbo,showtime etc). you can connect the cable line right into the tv if you only have basic cable. look at the back of your cable box. if you have a red, white, & yellow audio/video output, then the box is stereo.connect these outputs to your tv. this connection however is not hd.you will need a hd box with a hdmi cable for hd .To put the tv on stereo mode, there should be a way via the menu and/or the audio button on the remote to get it off mono and put it on stereo. your manual should at least show you around the settings of your tv.

Try checking with your home and contents insurance under the accidental glass breakage clause ,if you have this coverage they may pay the cost of replacement .

You have to hold your finger on the buttons for a few seconds...that might be the issue...took me a while to figure it out...

Could be dust on a circuit board...blow out the insides with clean air. If not, you can't fix it yourself...internal problem for expert!

what you have to to is hold the start button till the TV shows 480i then you will have what you need, it will set up for your tv

When your remote stops working it usually is caused by 2 things.
The first being that the remote control has either been banged against a hard surface thereby damaging some of the internal components.
The other option being that the previous batteries leaked inside and also caused some for of damage.
In the first option you just have to get a replacement remote for your unit. In the second option you can get a repair expert to take a look at the remote clean it up for you and you remote is working fine again.
