Cracked screen repair LCc46d62u

You can't repair cracked LCD screens, they can only be replaced. Unfortunately LCD screens cost more than the TV is worth. If you do happen to find a replacement screen, it's a pretty simple job (just a bunch of screws you have to remember where they go.) You can email me [email protected] if you need more detailed instructions.

This could be many things.

First.
Unplug the tv from the outlet (wait 60 seconds)

Second:
Plug the tv back in

If you still do not get power and no leds or standby lights you might have a fuse in this tv that has blown out on you. Even worse case is the power board inside could be defective, meaning your going to need to have it repaired.

Screen is cracked

Not much you can do but replacing the LCD panel, which will be more than the TV is worth if you can even get one since they are very limited production part.

Sharp aquos lines threw the picture

I've seen this problem before and if caught early (usually only a few pixels), its fixable. But if it has already started forming a "line" it might be too late and you might have a defective LCD panel. Most of the time, doing the factory initialization helps with this problem.

(WARNING: THIS GIVES YOU ACCESS TO THE SERVICE MENU. DO NOT ADJUST ANYTHING IN THE SERVICE MENU OTHER THAN WHAT I PROVIDE YOU IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS. IF YOU DECIDED TO ADJUST ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT I PROVIDE YOU IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS, I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING WRONG HAPPENS TO YOUR TV.)

  1. unplug tv
  2. press and hold at the same time “Vol –“ and “input” button on the TV set.
  3. while holding those buttons, plug the tv back in
  4. the tv should turn on by itself, keep holding the buttons until the letter “K” appears. Then let go
  5. then at the same time press “Vol –“ and “Ch. Down”, you should see the service menu appear (if it does not appear, try pressing the two buttons again, it needs to be exactly at the same time)
  6. Then use the “Ch. Down” button to navigate down the service menu until you see “Industry Init” (NOT Industry Init +cause)
  7. Then press “Vol +” to toggle it to “ON”
  8. Then “/////////////////” should appear.
  9. when the screen turns GREEN, unplug the TV. Wait about 30 seconds, then plug the TV back in.
  10. Then continue on with the initial setup again.

Sharp power light won't

The 5vdc standby power supply is working but not the rest of the set. It may be in safety shutdown due to short circuits in the power supply or in the backlight inverter board, those are the two areas you need to check first.

Tv does not turn on after a thunderstorm and

Check the main fuse in the power supply, the TV also has small surge protection devices (MOVs) installed after the fuse, any surges the come along and big enough will cause the main AC fuse to blow. When you surge protector, EVERY connections must go through the surge protector, for example, the AC cord of the TV is connected to the surge protector, the cable connection did not go through the surge protection, the surge then can get to the TV through the cables.

No sound from the built in speakers

Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be. First, make sure the MUTE function is not activated, then check the on screen sound set up menu to make sure the speakers are not set to OFF. If the setting is OK, then attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks (Red and White) to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. Please post back what you find.

Opc and power light flashing

That means you may ahve problem in the power supply or the backlight inverter board. You can disconnect the cable to the inverter to see if the 24vdc comes back on, then you need to load it with 24vdc load that can draw 3~4amp to see if the power supply can handle it OK and maintain 24vdc output. Then you need to check the inverter board for shorts ot burnt out parts.
