Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 40 in. LCD HDTV - Page 2 Questions & Answers
How do I repair the Sony Bravia LCD HDTV?
Hi... If it is a power board problem it is most likely capacitors that fail. Look for any electrolytic capacitors that are bulging on top. They are normally round with an aluminium top with a cross marked in the metal. They fail over time if they are low quality or high ESR with high transient voltages.
Make sure that you replace them with same or higher voltage ratings but with the same capacitance.
If you do buy them for stock in your repair shop look for high quality low ESR variety that will not a cause comebacks.
Hope this helps!

Should check the back light section circuit. The back light is lower than normal now. Check and replace damaged component/s at its backlight inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "
Mosaic" or "
Magazine" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

Have a new Sony Bravia
Hello,
There is some confusion on the model (KDL-40W500 vs. KDL-40V2500), so I will direct this toward the 40V2500.
On the KDL-40V2500, an 8X blink means the scan processer has gone bad, and the BU board needs to be replaced. If the problem is intermittent, the the AU board might be the problem, but if it all the time, bank on the BU.
A competent repair shop should be able to help you, or you can try calling Sony directly for assitance.
Hope this helps you...
