HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One InkJet Printer - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Rectangular colored block appears on all print outs
Any blocks of colour that are "shaped" are being added on purpose by the machine. Faults on cartridges or the print heads or produce by leaks will be blurred or simple ink blots.
This sounds like the printer can't cope with one of the fonts in your documents. Or perhaps a driver problem?
Try running the test page that is with the printer, perhaps not connected to the computer. If that is OK there's nothing wrong with the printer and it's a driver or font issue.
How do I replace the Carriage Cable?
My Uncle Liam got a nice six-month old Buick Encore SUV just by part-time work from a macbook air. Get More Info -------------> www.24forbesreports.com
My 6313 is dead
1st check your cables from the outlet to the machine........are all the cables firmly in place.
2nd check the outlet......do you have power coming to your machine.....(this can be checked by plugging something else into the outlet and seeing if t works).
Try these two things first, as further repairs will cost money.

Broken hinge
Take the scanner lid off by squeezing the plastic hinges inserted into the back of the cabinet.
Take the top hinge of the cartridge door off with the 2 tork screws holding it, using a small screw driver.
Go to a hardware store & pick up a pair of cabinet hinges no more than 2". (You need to buy a pair because they do not come separate)
Place the new cabinet hinge on the back to the right of the bottom hinge of the base cabinet. Mark holes, drill one top, in the door, & 1 bottom cabinet, pilot holes. Check alignment & insert screws.
Tighten the bottom screws. Leave a little slack in the top screws as they have to be a little off set to close completely. You will only need to open this Cartridge door to change cartriges, so, no sweat.
My cost was under $5 for a pair of brass hinges, & my time, about an hour, taking my time.
It's too bad HP won't supply their offset hinges. They are inexpensive & easy to replace.
I've had my unit for exactly 4 years now, so this fix is a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Besides, I have ink already purchased that does not fit new printers.....go figure....
Aloha.
I need to know what settings to use to print a document to a photo
If you can see 100% of your document on your monitor (screen), you could do a screen shot of it (hit the Prt Scr button) and then crop that to your needs. When you hit the Prt Scr button, that copies your entire screen to the "clipboard". Then you can paste it into a program like Paint and save it as a file with a .jpg file extension (a photo).
Alternately, you can use Windows "Snipping Tool" (Start, All Programs, Accessories, Snipping Tool). This will allow you to crop the portion of your screen that you want to save. Then save it with a .jpg file extension (a photo).
6310 problems
You have not really provided enough information to properly answer your query. However, a couple of things to check. Did you set the right page size when printing? Was the size of the item being printed able to fit on the paper size chosen? Finally, did you ensure the page format was correct - eg: as in a landscape shaped original on to perhaps a portrait shaped paper?
Hp officejet 6310 color cartridge problem
Take it out and put it back in, Unplug the printer from the power for a minute, last but not least try another cartridge. See if it prints a test page with the color. if it does then it is software related.
Paper mismatch
Hi kingwa55,
I have an hp photosmart c4480 and was having the same problem printing wedding invitations. Same size 5.5"x8.5'. Im not sure if this will work on your printer, but this is what I had to do.
Click on Print, then Properties, then features.
About half way down there is a drop down box under sizing options.
Click on custom
Create a name, and put your width and height in.
Click Save and then OK
Completely X out of the print options.
Then Click
File, print, properties, features, click the drop down box under sizing options.
Click more and scroll to the bottom and it should be there.
If your options are different then mine, I'm sorry for wasting your time.
