Where is the aperture ring on d80 Nikon
If you are using an older lens the aperture ring will be close to the camera body when the lens is on the camera. In order to set the aperture with a D80 and older lens you must set the aperture ring to "22" or the highest number on the aperture ring available. For newer lenses there is no aperture ring. You set the aperture by setting the dial on the top left of the D80 to "A" for Aperture Priority. You then set the aperture by rotating the front dial on the right side of the camera under the shutter release button. On older lenses, after setting the aperture ring to the highest number, you then set the aperture in the same manner.

How do I fix my Nikon D80? It is flashing F-- and will not take pictures.
What lens do you have on the camera? The F-- indicates that the camera is unable to communicate with the lens. If the lens has the electronics to communicate with the camera, try cleaning the contacts on the back of the lens and on the camera body. If the lens is a manual lens, set the camera to the Manual exposure mode (turn the mode dial to "M").

Nikon d80 turn off image information from view screen
The up and down arrows on the multi-function button on the back of the camera set the image on the display. With the display on, press the up or down arrow to function through the display settings and the stop on the one you want.
This often happens when you accidentally hit one of the arrow buttons while taking the picture and this changes the display image to the histogram or other display setting.

When I turn on nikon d80 err flashes
The Nikon D-90 users manual says on page 256 that the ERR message indicates a camera malfunction and that it can be cleared by releasing the shutter.
I've found on my D-90 that the only way I can get the shutter to release is my turning the camera off. When I turn it back on the ERR message is gone and the camera functions as it should.
Occasionally, I have had to remove and reinstall the battery to make the camera turn off but this happens only rarely.
The users manual says if the condition occurs frequently or persists that you should contact a Nikon authorized repair center. I suggest that you contact Nikon tech support at
www.nikon.com to see what they suggest. I think this information would apply to the D-80 as well.

The r05 is not an error message. It is an indication that the camera is shooting in burst mode (multiple shots with one button push) and that you can shoot five more shots before the camera must pause, clean its cache and be prepared to shoot again.

When I turn on My nikon d80 with 55-300lense it shows an error
The ERR message indicates a camera malfunction. In my D-90 manual it says that it can be cleared by releasing the shutter. The only way to do that is to turn the camera off and back on. Rarely, that won't work and you have to remove and reinstall the battery.
The manual also says that it this have frequently or persist to contact a Nikon authorized service center. I would contact Nikon tech support at
www.Nikon.com and discuss the problem them before contacting an authorized service center.

My d80 keeps flashing the f whats wrong with it
On my D-90 "F--" indicates that the lens is not communicating with the camera body. It could be because of dirty contacts or another problem. One solution that has been effective for others is to hold the lenses release button down and rotate the lens in place 10 or more times as a way to clean the contacts.
If that doesn't work, try contacting Nikon tech support at
www.nikon.com to see what they may suggest.

Removing front lens nikkor 18-135mm
Do you have a lens collimator and other equipment needed to ensure proper alignment when reassembling the lens? If not, take the lens to a reputable camera shop and have a properly trained and equipped professional do the cleaning.
