How did you copy the files to the DVD.Did you write the DVD in a DVD format or did you just copy the files. The files on the HDD are in MPEG-2 format but you might have to re-encode the movies to match the DVD file system. One more thing how fast did you write the dvd, it is best if you write it at the lowest speed that you can in speed setting's at max 4x to make sure that all players can read it. You might have to use software like NERO Vision Express to convert. Basically, a MOD file is an MPEG2 file with different audio. So you can change it to an M2v extension, and some editing programs will work the files, MOD Converter will if you add a file to it and convert/transcode the MOD footage to AVI,WMV,MPG before using it in windows movie maker,sony vegas,adobe premiere.

The only drawback of JVC GZ-MG130 camcorder I can find, and it's a big one, is the fact that it saves in .MOD files, which is not a widely recognized format. Windows Movie maker in Vista will edit MPEG2 natively. However, you may need Premium or Ultimate to use it that way.

DVD players cannot read mod files.

- Make sure you have been installed JVC driver on your PC - If your PC has multi ports USB, just try other ports to make connection - check your firewire, it may be malfunctioned . Try other USB cables

Hi, please confirm if the camcorder is faulty by connecting to another working laptop or a desktop computer. if the problems persist in 2 or more computers, then the issue is either the cable or the camcorder itself.

if the camcorder works on another machine then its a problem with only that computer.

you can attempt to correct it by uninstalling all USB devices from the computer and then letting the computer reinstall them on its own.


To do that, on your desktop or in the start menu right click on the My computer or computer and select manage. Then on the left side click on device manager, then on the right side in the bottom. See Universal Serial Bus controllers. open that.


Being uninstalling from the bottom and work your way upwards until the Universal serial bus controllers category dissapears. You may have to plug in the old type of mouse to the computer if you have a usb mouse it will stop functioning as we uninstall the usb ports.


to uninstall a device, right click on it and select uninstall. If asked, don't remove software.


once you have uninstalled all the usb ports, turn off the computer and unplug all the usb devices, unplug the power from the computer and hold down the power button for 20 seconds, this will drain any power remaining on the components of the computer.

Plug the power back in and turn the computer back on, let it start up normally, you will get a number of found new hardware notifications in the bottom right of your screen wait for them all to be installed and then start plugging in your usb devices one by one and wait for them to install.


then plug in your camcorder and wait for it to set it up.

This can be fixed by resetting the camcorder,and try to upload it.

Upload the video to your computer and then download to Facebook or YouTube.
