Hi, the error code that you have is a known issue from Microsoft that needs a registry tweaks. Error code means "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (code 39)". You can click on this link for your reference http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461/en-us

To resolve this problem, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps:1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

This will surely help you resolve your issue. Good Luck!!!

Thanks

This device cannot start. (Code 10) could not load driver software

I have Toshiba Satellite A100-049 Model PSAARE-03G00JEN

My cd-rom drive suddenly stopped working and the icon has disappeared from my computer. I checked device manager and it has yellow exclamation mark on it. The device model is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N ATA Device

I have disabled, enabled but no luck. I took it back to John Lewis today and they unistalled the device but my computer cannot reinstall the driver. They told me to search Toshiba support and downlaod the driver as they think it is corrupt and will be fixed by downloading driver.
I have just spent 2 hours trying tolocate the driver but no luck and am fed up.
Please can anyone sort this out for me and tell me how to get my cd drive working again.
Many thanks

Toshiba Satellite Laptop 2405-S201 won't power up

It's been in the state before--some kind of mega sleep mode. At that time, I call Toshiba Tech Support and then had me hit a key combination with the battery out and it came up after. I can't remember the key combination and tech support is tied up with calls today.

One possibility would be to remove the battery and AC adapter and then just hold down the power button for about 5 seconds.

Put the battery and AC adapter back in and givr it a try.

Hope this helps!

toshiba satellite touchpad

all of a sudden while using the touchpad, if I tap on the touchpad, whatever I am doing either minimizes or goes to smaller size. Not every time, only about 1 out of 8 taps this happens. Also when the curser is in the lower right side of the screen, it now changes to a scroll type mode. I have had the computer a few years and suddenly this started happening about 5 days ago. I checked for new drivers and updated if it said to, also resent my computer to 15 days ago in case something got downloaded or something. Any solution on how to set this back to where it was?? Any help is appreciated.

READ THIS POST NOT THE OTHERS. you can configure each of the four corners of the TouchPad surface to act as different buttons when tapped. These corner regions are called Tap Zones. to disable this feature goto control panel, mouse, device settings, settings, tapping, tap zones, disable tap zones.

Hey there... :D

Could you try the Fn+F9 Key to Disable/Enable your touchpad mouse?

Because just now i've experiencing the same problem as you guys... and turns out I can make my touchpad working just by pressing the Fn+F9 key.

Note: if your Fn key is not working try installing Toshiba utilities for A135 called FlashCard, run the program and there will be a dropdown menu at the upperside of your screen...
then click on F9 >> and choose Enable.... Thats It... :)

I hope it also solved your problem... :D

adding bluetooth to toshiba laptop

I have a toshiba satellite A135-S4487. It's wi-fi certified with part # PSAD0U-03500P. I'm trying to add a canon PIXMA MP500 bluetooth printer. I bought a Kensington bluetooth adapter installed it and couldn't get the printer working. My bluetooth manager doesn't recognize any devices. Can you give me any hlp?

Well,I'm not really an expert on Bluetooth, but let me try...

Which version of Windows are you running? If you have Windows XP SP2 or above, the Microsoft Bluetooth stack should be installed on your system. First make sure that the Kensington bluetooth adapter is compatible with the printer and the OS. From what I heard Canon sell a separate Bluetooth adapter for about $80 for this, but I'm not too sure.

Secondly, ensure that the built-in Bluetooth Stack or Software has the required Profile for your printer.

Next, put your printer in "discover" mode (see printer manual for more info ). Use the Bluetooth Connection Utility software that came with the built-in Bluetooth stack to "discover" the printer. Follow the instructions by the Bluetooth stack manufacturer on how to pair and connect Bluetooth devices to your built-in Bluetooth stack.

Please also see THIS article. although it is meant for the Logitech DeNovo keyboard, it can be used for any Bluetooth enabled devices. (Just replace the DeNovo wit your printer in the article.

But mainly, make sure that the Kensington adapter is compatible...

Hope that helps..

backup whatever information you have and run the system recovery through the disks you received when you purchased the computer. If you can perform the recovery then you know the hardware is fine and that you were experiencing software corruption.
