have a 30 GB Zune that crashed today while I was using it; all you need to do is press all the buttons on the front of the player for around ten seconds or so, and the logo will come onto the screen and the player will reboot. I believe the black screen means the Zune has crashed for some reason, but this method worked for me, so give it a try. (Mind you as well that I had it plugged into the computer at the time as well when I did this. But now it works just fine for me.)

Spray it some contact cleaner. Your switch might be dirty that's why there's no contact even you pressed it.

I think the reason why you zune won't charge is because of your battery.
My zune was acting up as well.
You must first install the latest zune software.
Then you plug your zune cable int the back usb port of the cpu

First, you must not use the front usb ports on your cpu. You must plug your zune device in the back usb port. You must then download the LATEST Zune software. Install it and restart your computer. If done correctly, your Zune device will begin to charge and start working correctly. Have fun with your device

Try the reset procedure...

hold the back button and the up button until you see the Zune logo then release. if this doesnt work then you are going to have to reset your Zune....however this will loose all the data on the zune so your music/movies will be completely gone. you are going to need to press and hold the back and up button until the zune logo appears then hold the back,play/pause, and the center button until you see "please wait"

It could be a driver issue. Run a driver update and see if that fixes it, you can download the updated software from http://zune.net/en-US/

Hi you will have to replace your HD in the player. If you have tried reseting it and it still goes to contact 5 then the HD is the problem.

Hi if your player is on the contact support screen you can try doing a hard reset on the player. It that does not help then you will have to have the HD replaced as it has gone bad.

Hi you have to have the plastic tool you can buy on ebay and start at the top an force the tool between the front and back case and work it around to unlatch all the clips holding the back on. Opening the player is not easy at all. I have done it several times and I still manage to either crack the front glass or break a few clip that hold it together.

You cant delete song with the player only. You have to hook the player up to a computer and do a reset of the player that will also re install the firmware. Once you do this the player will be empty. If you only want to delete certain song you have to hook the player up and use the Zune software to see the music you have on it then delete what you want from the list shown.

If your HD is clicking that means its going bad. You can try to wipe the HD clean and re install the firmware but if you still get the nose when selecting some option then the HD will eventually stop working and you will have to replace it. The 120's are well known for the HD going bad.

Hi if you hold the back button, the top of the center button and the play/pause button down at the same time with player off. the player should boot up and go to set 3 the 4 then 1. Then you hook up the player to your computer and re install the firmware using the Zune software.
