Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

The Zune is locked when you plug it in to the computer. You must unplug it to use it.

This happened to me today actually, all you have to do is hold down the back button and up on the pad and it will reset. =]

You can buy screen wipes and stuff on ebay next time works perfect

I had same problem. After lots of research I got my screen from http://www.repairsuniverse.com.

The price of the screen was half the price of the previous post and they included full instructions how to fit which for me we're a god send!

With this error code, you need to reformat your Zune player and sync your content again.
NOTE: This procedure will erase all content from your Zune player. You may want to first sync your content from your player to your computer, if you are able to, before reformatting your player.

1. Start the Zune software on your computer.
2. Connect your Zune using the Zune sync cable.
3. Click Settings, and then click device.
4. Click Synchronization Options, and then click Delete all content.
5. Click Yes when you receive the following message:

7. After you click Yes, you receive the message "Erase All Content". The process can take several minutes. Do not move or disconnect the Zune device until the message disappears.

the best thing to do would be to start from scratch... Turn off the zune by holding down and back.

then hit play to turn it back on... as it's loading hold the center button left and back at the same time... this will remove everything from the harddrive... after that you will see a message saying to connect your zune to a computer with the Zune software...

so plug it in... the software will see the Zune and tell you that you need to install the lastest version of the firmware... it will install and should work after that
